Seems to be a glitch or soemthing in the guide. Not everything appears.

Usually when someone reads something carefully they understand it better.
Maybe he just read it some time ago or real fast.

Compressing Sounds

By: Clokr_

Staredit can compress the sounds, so the map will the smaller. But for compress a sound it must be in 16bit mono format. Here I write how to convert it:

HOW TO CREATE THE CONVERSION TEMPLATE:
1.-Open the sound recorder (START->PROGRAMS->ACCESORIES->ENTERTAINMENT->SOUND RECORDER).
2.-Goto file->Properties
3.-Click on convert now
4.-Select on the middle list PCM.
5.-Select on the bottom list 8,000 KHz; 16 bit; Mono 15Kb/s.
6.-Click on Save As, type StarCraft and click on OK.

HOW TO CONVERT A FILE(If you didn't create the template, read above):
1.-Open the sound recorder (START->PROGRAMS->ACCESORIES->ENTERTAINMENT->SOUND RECORDER).
2.-Goto file->Properties
3.-Click on convert now
4.-Select on the top list StarCraft.
5.-Click OK and save the file.

Repeat the convert a file steps for each sound that you want to compress. In the staredit, when you are selecting the sound for import it, there is a list at bottom. Select High compression.

Does he understand what he has to do? Sounds only get compressed well in the right format, and even then.

A 50,000 Wav. will be converted into a 12,000 size Map.

Try using your Computer Recorder. And put the Record power to 8kb or small. Thats how I got the T-1 and T-2 music in my Terminator Trailer. Download it on my Signature link.
