i played a bound and the minimap was slanted. how do you do it?
Haven't tested the map, but it's most likely 1 tile away from one of the default sizes (ie. 65x65).
EDIT: confirmed, it is 129x128.
BTW, that will crash you if it's the first game you play since starting SC. Which is why you shouldn't do it.
screenie plz? my editors are messed now...
this happened 2 me once my map was fine until i had starforge protect the map for testing purposes with people i didnt know. before i protected it and i tested with my friends it was fine so maybe its the 65x65 or starforge may have a small bug in it.
Yes starforge protection adds a columb of tiles to the right of your map for protection. Along with the crashing problem it also distorts minimaps. It was a error due to ignorance when coming up with methods to make the map unopenable in staredit.
The map size causes the minimap to display because it is an incorrect size.
One more thing if you don't know this already...256x256 is the biggest map size possible.
Off topic: T.s.u.k.a.s.a how do you have -11 minerals??? Lol
I just tried using 0 as a dimension, and starforge crashes if you use it as both, but not if oyu use it as one of the dimesnions so I made it but it crashes. Too bad I thought it'd be cool.
Phat, using 0 as a deminsion would destroy the whole map, a 0 by 256 map would be nothing

O yea I know, but it doesn't crash starforge so I though it was worth a try.
whats the smallest map you can make? i think i made one 20x20 that didnt crash sc...
I've made a map where the dimension is 96x20, when creating the game, it said its 96x0, also i tried 64x10 and it actually works, in the game when playing, if you scroll to the right of the map, it will scroll foreever and has no ending

wachy eh?
Ya, weird map sizes can

things up.
The smallest I've heard of is 20x12(size of the screen).
I made a weird size once(can't remember exactly though) and it was weird.
If I used arrow keys, I couold scrolll right through the minimap.
As in, if I look at the top right, then I can keep scrolling eright
and the white box will start appearing on top left.
Then I click where it is
and my view shifts to that spot.
When the bounds of the map are smaller than the screen you can scroll the screen off the map. Some times once you scroll off too far the map crashes.
Slanted minimap = SF protect.
Sometimes it looks really cool and sometimes it dosen't.
I once used it for the map I lost and it was great. I spelled out the name of the bound and in the normal screen it didn't loko like I wrote the name. But in the minimap it was slanted and it glowed because of units I put there.
If you can manage the slanted mini-map correctly(took me 5 hours just to do that), the effects are impresive.
Cool slanted... I wonder if you can invert a minimap? Up is down down is up etc...
Inverted would be really cool, I saw a map today where the map was only the top left of the minimap but the top right was almost like a duplicate of the top left in that I had vision of both places.
But the bottom was nothing.
