1) Ok whenever i add text to a pic' in PS it will only let me save it as a photo shop document (PSD). How do i get around this?
2) Which sounds cooler?

You have to save it as a PSD or it loses information, which is why it asks. You can still save it as another type of image, but it will save it as a "copy".
