Well I played trumpet, but in Marching band there was only one mellophone and our instructor was asking people to switch, so I thought about it then switched. Then in concert band there was no french horns, so I decided I'd switch.

that's awesome. I'm thinking about picking up melophone so that I could join a professional bugle corp, as they don't allow saxophones in.
