Ive seen many poeple have just got photoshop and are just starting to use it, and i thought i would share some of my tips and tricks, others feel free to add stuff too!

Lightning Background
Start with a blank canvas, default colours

Use Filter > Clouds

Use Filter > Differnce Clouds

Press Ctrl-I (Invert)

Press Shift-Cntrl-B (Auto Colours)

Press Ctrl-B (Colour Balance)
Fiddle around with the sliders untill you gte a colour you like

And your done!

Final product Attached, after i have a shower, ill do another!

ADDITION: Part 2: Simple Space Scene!
Ok, this is very newbish, but hey!

Start with a black background

Filter > Noise > Add Noise.
Choose a value that makes the background look like stars (5% is good)

yay, you have a empty space feild! How about a sun?

Filter > Lens Flare
Fiddle around agian, make it look like a star


And your done! Pretty simple wassnt it!

Another cool tip:

If you want the wind effect on the top or bottom of your pic' just rotate the canvas 90 degrees, wind, then back.

Uhh...there are a LOT of tips/tricks you can do in photoshop. Here's one...

If you want to EDIT a picture, but don't want to mess it up...create a NEW layer and draw on that layer. If you mess up...you can just delete that layer!

sick looking vortex thingy

Start with a Lighting Background

Put a Lens Flare (about 140%) in the top corner

Filters > Blur > Radial Blur
Ammount: 50
Method: Zoom
Quailty best

Duplicate Layer

Twirl 300

Set Blending mode to loghten

Merge layers

Duplicate Layer

Attached version was had the twirl steps repeated with bigger numbers

Twirl -600

Set Blending mode to lighten

Merge layers

Colour Balance untill you find a colour you like

Version 7.1, cant be bothered to download CS,

EDIT: Of, in that vortex, i think i repeated the steps with differnt values, this is what it should look like

Here's a pretty simple one:
1. Create a new document (preferrably a wallpaper size), set colors to default, Render Clouds.
2. Twirl 999, then do Polar Coordinates (Polar to Rectangular)
4. Duplicate the layer, flip the top layer horizontally and set blend mode to Overlay.
4. Merge the layers, run Polar Coordinates again using the same setting, then just run a hue/saturation filter.

or you can steal photoshop but its illegal...
Photoshop isnt worth buying unless you are truely going to use it
Dont waste your money if all your gonna do is edit some lamer red eye thing

highs tips helped. but i have ps 5.1 LE will these work for my version?
