Staredit Network -> Games -> Metroid Prime: Echoes
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-09-09 at 22:12:49
Well since I'm a Metroid fan, I'm just gonna create a discussion topic about it tongue.gif

I simply loved MP, and Echoes just seem as good as the first one. But I'm still not sure I agree with that multiplayer thing... Personally, I think people are gonna be a little agaisnt it since it's gonna (I guess) break a certain already existing tradition.

I espect the game to be better than Prime, though, since I do believe the creators learned about their "errors" in the first game and deleted them, as well as adding new things (the beloved wall jump happy.gif ) and other options. White and Dark weapons should introduce quite a good effect in the game.

But what makes me happier is that, for once, we (well... most of us in America/Europe) will get to play the game before Asiatics biggrin.gif. Pretty rare indeed. MP:Echoes is planned to be in stores by christmas. Promising enough!

I wouldn't espect too much outta that mode anyway... Doupt they put alot of work in it, the game is mainly made for single player.

Yeah I was a big fan of the first MP. I've seen a few videos and screenshots of it. So I'm eager for it to come out.

Well, I almost beat MP on Hard mode with 100% log/progress, so ya I'm waiting for this tongue.gif
I think I'll like the multiplayer, but has anyone noticed the plot is like Metroid Fusion i think it is.

PS: I find it funny that I had the Plasma Beam before I fought Thardus. biggrin.gif

You probably had the unbugged version, then (cuz the Player's Choice is fixed in most cases).

I was done with 100% hard in 1 month tongue.gif

It would be cool if Echoes would be "kinda" like Fusion, I liked on how Samus could actually interfere with people around... It makes more sense than just a bounty hunter going on a planet and spending 3 weeks killing everything around for the heck of it.

I should have bought a gamecube instead of my ps2. Now that I look, alot of games I really like are on gamecube. I loved the whole metroid series. And the whole zelda series.

Yea, MP was fun. I especially liked how the Metroids sometimes attacked and killed the Space Pirates that were a nuisance to fight.

Good lil' Metroid! Now I'll reward you with an Ice Beam and some missles!

Cute indeed happy.gif

Though that's more called like "intelligence", unlike in other games where all the planet allied against a sole Bounty Hunter :/

Why did you buy your PS2 for then? The only reason I'd actually buy that is for Final Fantasy :/

I'm not done with the game. I'm like 64% done. I'm stuck on the part where I gotta find all the Chozo Artifacts, and I got three left. Dunno where they are. I'd want to beat Metroid Prime before I got the second game though. I'm just that way.

I can help you if you want (if you do tongue.gif )

PM me if so.

I might. I'd have to go plug my GC back in if I do. It's been a few months since I played it.

Was that at me, for the plasma beam deal, cause I know theres two versions and you can do it on both. Either that or I'm just stupid and remember wrong. I'm going with #2 biggrin.gif

Whatever versions... I know it's longer to do it the the final one, though. Both versions have their flaws, the second one just basicaly makes things harder.

They barely did anything for Multiplayer?
ARE YOU ON CRACK
They might change the entire game controls because of the multiplayer:
(This was th part were i would post a huge acrticle about the Metroid Prime: 2 game but apparently the website is down!!! ranting.gif mad.gif

"This is Metroid. This is not Halo. This is not Unreal Tournment. This is Metroid. There for will have Metroid Multiplayer."
- Creator of Metroid 2

The multiplayer will have about 4 modes (BTW all this information is from Game Informer Magazine July Edition)
I can only rember 2. Deathmatch and Morph Ball speical:

Deathmatch:
Basically like any other Deathmatch. You go around shooting each other. But for those of you who forgot or are asking yourself: "Wait a minute... Metroid Prime had lock on targeting... How can they do multiplayer."
There are 2 ways of doing this. Well really theres only 1 and the way that they had in the first place which would make multiplayer awful. They are questioning if they should change the controls for targeting for the entire game. If the C stick will let Samus stafe and look up and down and the anolog stick allowing you to aim and move forward (Backwards too)

The other way they were going too do it was keep lock on targeting but let the morphball unlockable. If you were being shot at you would turn into the morphball to dodge fire. This would suck though you could be morphball all the time and plant bombs everwhere. Oh wait i forgot:
Bombs will not be defult on morphball (wink.gif) Power ups will be placed around the area. One power up will give you bombs untill you die and other power ups will be like: Metal Samus. Speed. X2 Jump and other things like that.

Morphball SPeical:
This is only played in morphball. You can not get out of Morphball. You move around ramming each other. Each ram is instant kill. THink of it as Metroid's way of Super Sudden Death.

Areas and levels are still unknown about Multiplayer.

Lots of reading...
And theres more:

Single PLayer:

As already said before there will be Light and Dark beams. I don't think Light and Dark WORLDS were mentioned however. When reading this article i was still confused by it myself so i'll try my best:
There is a Dark World and A Light world (GUESS WHAT YOU HAVE ALLIES!) In the Light world they have. Uhh.....what you could call Light Monsters. Not as dark or gloomy and scary as Dark Ones. (Space Pirates Maybe?) In the light world there is this tribe of some sort that is trying to block monsters from the Lightr World. The balance of Light and Dark (Yin and Yang if you will) are unbalanced. The light world is smaller then the dark world. But in the first case. There shouldn't even be a "Dark world" The plannet was split in two.

To move across Light To Dark. There is this intermission area. There will be small blue circles floating in the air. You have to shoot those Circles. They create Enrgy Feilds (or something this is the part where i got confused) When you shot them you could safely stand there (for about 30 seconds) When not in an enrgy feild you would lose health slowly A helth point a second. I mean 1 miss- seconds not missisisppi seconds. So thats basically how you moved from the two worlds (yeah the plannet is split in half did i mention i was confused)

On the Dark side. You meet your first boss. Some slug thing with 3 heads. I could read the article again (all 12 pages front and back) to type how it attacks but ill pass. (Im tired from typing so much) When not fighitng bosses on the dark side you'll proably meet up with the Ing tribe. Long black Tencles completely black and x2 the size of samus. They have two forms. Normal Ing and Battle ing. Normal ings will siply lie around if you go near them they will attack. Battle Ings will charge into battle with you. Don't treat them like nothing though. These things are dangerous like Metroids. They wrap Tentecles around you and sufficate you. only way to get out is Morph ball (A lot like Metroids eh?)
Well thers no finishing line for this.
Thats all the info i got. Actully i have more but im tired of typing and i dont want to read. Im going to sleep for an hour

What was your point overall anyway? Everyone already knew about the Light and Dark worlds/weapons... But you seem against multiplayer since it's gonna change all controls...

Know if this is permanant? (single AND multi?)

will it be pay to play?

Wow, ever since I played Super Metroid I had been HOPING for a multiplayer, though I don't have a gamecube.

Why would I want it if I have an XBox instead? My friend has a GameCube, that's why...
though that whole Dark/Light world thing sounds weird and crap...

If you've played The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, it should feel familiar...

As for multiplayer, I'm excited, but I'm buying for the single player game. The multiplayer is just a bonus, even if it is crap. If it DOES suck, it just means that the single player game will feel even better!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Golden-Fist on 2004-09-16 at 09:29:50
Yeah there will be Multiplayer no matter what
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Buletbutter on 2004-09-18 at 18:16:45
I'll admit, the multiplayer is going to be a bit odd. But the rest of the game looks amazing! I really can not wait for it come out. Besides, I am tired of telling people the only reason to get a GameCube is for Metriod:Prime. After it's released I can say because of Metriod:Prime and Echoes tongue.gif
