Jets right, everyone knows about that, and it's more of a thing than a trick.

angry.gif when i first got starcraft, i experimented with the editor. and some ai script allowed the larva's to crawl to my base. Now i cant get that to work. im asking the same thing..... FUNNY THING WAS.... they were running to me and running away from the hive!

How do you do it? I;ve never seen it.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by greenreaper on 2004-09-12 at 17:37:52
Basically to make larva go to a point or "follow" something run two AI Scripts.

1. Set Generic Unit to "location"
2. Ai Script move to (upper left hand corner)

The larva will start moving to a point...

One more thing: I might have the exact names of the AI Script wrong...

That's awesome. yeah, you got Set generic Command Target wrong, but who cares, I know which one you mean.

i thought you just move the larva to a location and they will automatically move towards the nearest hatchery or something

it is very useful cuz u can move ur larvas into a base and then like make mutas right in there base it has major mass posibilities chair.gif

*Spamming*

Pointless "almost flaming" post of little need or requirement. He was simply pointing to something he thought he'd found out, its not that hard to do, and is possible either Infoceptor, and Scarab if you are fast enough!

But it could be very fun UMS

You could have a larva doing generic command target on an observer and do a tremmors like map with the larva, and they own a slow unit like a reaver...well, a little faster but...

That would be really weird.

I should do that.

Question: Will the larva make into units if they controlled by comp with AI script, or will the triggers override it.

If you just lekave it to walk to the hatchery, it might. That'd be cool, or if you killed the hatchery.

Another Question: Do they have to belong to a Hatchery, or can they be preplaced and moved.

The first time i've seen this trick was on a resident evil map where the nemisis was a hydra and when it died it created a larva witch moved around map (just like it was geting stronger) after 5 min's the larva would turn into a hydra again and go on a rampage

OOOO a new defence level LARVAS!!!!

Here's something I've experimented with: have a Zerg computer player with Expansion Zerg Campaign Insane and Junkyard Dog. The said player had only buildings to start with (no Men at all) and I saw... Drones and Larvae running around like mad!!! Larvae as in OFF the creep. Meh, I guess it's not THAT weird, but it should solve your question.

You can't just order larva?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-09-28 at 18:07:19
No, they don't follow the commands of those, it would ignore it in place of its set Ai, only FORCING it with Generic enables it to go somewhere, which is interesting, since that means the place of origin in real terms...however they just got it mixed up!

Set generic Command taregt only affects units that aren't affected by the Order Move, right?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SaLaCiouS(U) on 2004-10-02 at 20:33:25
It affects ALL units I think. All the regular ones, plus Larva, Reavers, Interceptors. All that wink.gif

Someone already made Larva Defense. I think it was Bolt.

No i made "Dodge the Larva" one of the (U) members made a Chicken Defense where you defend against larva.
