Are you talking about flickering health like in bounds (100% to 50% to 1% etc.) or a glowing wireframe?

I think he means making 2/1 HP so wireframe is different colors.

you need to use starforge. simple but it might only work for zerg units.

-------
Steps
-------
1) starforge
2) unit & hero settings
3) click unit you want
4) there are 2 slots for hp make the 1st slot a bigger number than the 2nd slot

if you want the life thingy than its this

players: all players
condtions: always
actions:
-set unit hitpoints to 10
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 20
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 40
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 60
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 80
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 100
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 80
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hitpoints to 60
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 40
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 20
-wait 1 millisecond
-set unit hit points to 10
-preserve trigger

there ya go smile.gif

(Oh and if you want it to work, after the hitpoints thing, add All Players.)

Wraith: How do I make the first slot a bigger number when the second slot I put to 9600 and in first slot it only goes to 255

eXile5: does flickering health only work in bounds? if not what would I need to do for that.

No, you can make flickering health in ANY MAP. Lol.

Because 255 is as high as it goes. Why would your units hp be 9600.

The first HP box is not the unit's starting HP - it is some sort of flag that when it is non-zero, causes the unit's HP to go one over it's max. ex: Marine with any non-zero value and default HP of 40 will have 41/40 HP. Setting this to a non-zero value will change unit wireframes, making zerg units "glow" and changing some terrain and protoss wireframes to blue.

Cause its use map settings map and the map is dbz.

It must be able to do more than one because in the test map Map Making Tricks Test by DeathKnight2004, the Zerg Egg has 200/1 HP and if you attack it, the color of the wireframe will change color for every bit of damage you inflict on it.

if you use starforge to do the health thing. then change to a different editor. the glowing thing wont work anymore and you have to do it again. use number 3/1 or 7/4.

What you mean with 3/1 and 7/4.

there are 2 health boxes one that is on the right and its small. and the other one is your normal health box and its big. put 3 on the small box and 1 on the regular health box. it works for zerg most of the time. on some toss units to. i think for terran sometimes its blue and sometimes its not.

Heimdal just explained to you why you can use other numbers too you know...

Just use 1 in the small box and 1-5 in the big one to get any zerg unit or building to glow. The end.

I have one more question. I tried to put other numbers except 7-4 and 3-1 and all of the other once game me the same color glow do you guys have any other numbers that give different colors.

Even though you got it to work in the final version you could make the units sprites then ... wait.. no.. the health in 9600...
Well if you have marine sprite and you set a normal marines HP to 10,
Then the marine will have 40/10 hp and a glowing wireframe. 40 HP becuase that is the defualt. Get it?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-09-23 at 19:58:39
I get why that egg had 200/1 HP now. It was a sprite. biggrin.gif

I thnik I will test it when you do these things to units that have a BLANK wireframe (wireframe says BLANK in weird corrupted letters).

I noticed that with Terran units and Protoss buildings (what i have played around with so far) will not always have changed wireframes. A little annoying. Any way to guarantee a wireframe change? I assume not but it's worth asking.
