Simple question, just wanted to know. I for one think they are, because we could all be outside learning or at least reading a book, but instead we are inside letting our brains rot inside a fake world.

Video games are only usefull when you need to cool off, because they do let your brain enter another world that your body cannot. Like, after a parent yells at you, all you want to do is hit things, then it would be easier just to hit something in another world then actually break something in the real world.

Because of this, I pick sometimes....

LOL! I have never had a sezsure before in my life, and I keep searching for something that will cause one! Which video games! Maybe I am somehow immune.... that would be CrAzY!


Don't you ever get bored of looking for the game you want to play on sc, or those really long bound games where you wish you culd just skip the parts you've beaten like a zillion times Shado-Fox? I mean, that to me is a waste of time, replaying the same parts over and over!

i use games to entertain my self when friends are to busy to come over or i'm really mad and need to cool off

Most :censored:ing offensive statement ever. Video games are my life, they give me the chance to actually transport me into a world I will probably never be in, they give me hope and joy. They aren't fake worlds, they are real immaginary worlds.

Don't come and tell me my dreams are fake, cuz otherwise I don't see how anyone can't suicide knowing everything they believe into is but "fake"...

Video games are a waste of time sometimes... If it is a bad game then you are wasting good time better spent on good video games.

Uhh, most people don't get seizures from games... Maybe that's one of those things you'd want to go to the hospital for.

Well i get seizures alot i get most of them from 1st person shoooter games and too much ff1 I'm bad boy

Seizures... as in headaches... or as in a ACTUAL seizure with uncontrollable movement....?

Yeah, it all depends on the quality of the game. If it's bad, then it's a waste of time. If it's good, then it's a worthwhile expenditure of time.

playing sc isnt waste of time

Video games have been my sad life since I was about 5 or 6. There has probably not been one day in my life when I have not at least played for a few minutes. I don't feel its a waste of time. They can sometimes create a false sense of the world, but you have to learn to balance the two.

like heck video games are a waste of time; I play them to get ideas on stuff to write, and than I scare people with what I write! it's not even that bad...only about assassins...and corruption...and death....

It depends on the game too,

In GTA there really is no point, I don't see any learning value from that game.

In strategy games, you actually have to manage resources, decieve your enemy, and strategically attack.

FPS...maybe and eye coordination, pay attention to details, which is good for graphics.

I duno, cant think of anything else...

One thing games do, they create communities such as this one (SEN) and out of communities comes creativity and learning stuff..

Yea, but by the time you found a community of a game which to hang in, you discovered internet and don't need to "learn" much from them...

A SP, if you spend all your time visiting worlds that don't exsist, then you don't exists, right? Sure, video games let us spawn creativity faster than READING, but it still rots our minds and sets us strait. Did you know that when Television came out, people became fatter, children had more nightmares about fake things, and overall, people made scheduals around their favorite shows. Now, put that a step further where people have control of those shows, and you realize we have dropped another level in society. Also, video games created a foundation for killers and lunatics, as they could say it happens in a game, why can't it happen here. If we spent less time trying to make video games that ultimatly just take lives away from people like you, SP, then we are a reverse society where the killers make great things.

In other words, video games can be a waste of time if they are bad, corrupt, or overall showing people things they would never be able to do and then letting people take that a step farther! Think about this the next time you pop a game in to play, what is my future from this going to be, could I have made more money if I would have dodged this, and can I still prevent that?

If you can't prevent an ultimately "loser" future, than you've wasted your life, and thus, video games were a waste of your time.

Damn, that took forever to say....

videos games just give you something to do when you have NOTHING else to do, and if you do have something to do but are playing games then it becomes a waste of time better spent on something else, but really who cares time is the thing you'll have the most of in your entire life at some point you might grow up and not be interested in games or just have to get a job
