I've made maps, loads of maps. But I want to make those cool colors you see in the Sd clan color map or some of the LOTR, I want to stack thehsunkens spores, etc. I know you need programs but I don't know what the name of hte programs are, and where I can download them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Colors are made in GUedit. Theres a full list (all 255) that used to be in our tutorials DB, which is offine for the moment.
I would say download here, but our stuff is offline

try campaigncreations.org
also you should get x-tra editor and starforge. you can get starforge
here.

Trickz'n'StuffThose are all the editors I ever use, other than Staredit, now and then, to remember where it all came from, it is possible to make Bound maps using just Staredit...They aren't all that bad either, a little different to the normal "Square" terrain the rest use!
RPGs' and WW maps all really require an editor which disables the Unit Limit!
You can square terrain with StarEdit. Just use ISOM or SCMToolkit (make the map bigger than it should be, and use SCMToolkit to change the size. Terrain becomes square.)
SCMdraft is the best for square tiling at the moment. I would start using Starforge however its bugged in terms of mission breifing and imported wavs.
I'd use starforge but I hate the permanet lock...And kenshin bound 2 uses it to protect and they have a wav working.
I know of a new better protection program, I'll add it to the DL DB when Chus back.
Sometimes when making a map using Starforge, you can't open it with other StarEdit programs...Except one...SCMDraft will open almost anything! And then you save it again, using SCMDraft, and then anything else can view it...Strange, but it works!
It'll kill the terrain and kill sounds and crash if you view triggers.
Why the hell are you telling people how to get into locked maps? You're ruining the whole concept of protection. -_-

I wont even say what im thinking off Moose :lmao:
Lol well heres scxeinstall
This is how I make my maps:
1. Terrain with Starforge
2. Triggers with SC-Extra
3. Protection and anything else with mpq/hexing
Well either way, it works...

Trust me. If it worked, it wouldn't be there. We're anti-unprotection here.
Really, if you want to see a map for what it is, get a strange early version of SCMDraft, can't do #### all with it, but it strangly gains its way into everything...And gives you terrain as well. Very mad!
GUEdit is redundant, stop using it!
I think the best editor ever made is Special Mode on X-Tra Editor. It really is! People haven't even gone to the max on its possibilities yet, nor have people fully understood SCMDraft, which can make units have 0 attack, but you can do upgrades? See where i am going, or have them with minus health (A little pointless, basically Invic) All units, NOT BUILDINGS, can do this.
Overlapping Text : Great!
Set a building into the Red, or close to it, and overlap so that it goes far to the LEFT and it will flash on and off. Great!
Starforge, muck around with crap trigger editor, hopefully it not #### up map, and it can do nifty stuff!
I rarely see people use the oldest trick with Square terrain, the forever rising Cliff, or the Slope downwards!
Please explain the forever rising Cliff, or the Slope downwards and how to make the text flash. Though I have heard of it, I forgot where. Maybe all this stuff should be posted in the tutorials section...
You basically get an editor like GUEdit or SCMDraft to copy portions of the ramp and keep placing them over and over again to make it look like its extended. And it works just like a normal ramp.
Hmm, I don't understand. Do you mean basically to take the "sprite" of the ramp and repeating it by overlapping it over several instances?
A screenshot would help too.
Here's an image I made to show Moose and Terrenblade how I could extend ramps.
Its basically a wider ramp than you can place.
Selector bound 2 has a cool 1.
Thank you, I get it now.
Is there anyway of making it so that unit can walk onto a cliff without a ramp? Like from the top to a cliff overlooking the bottom? I know this can be done with square/rectangular terrain, but there is an obvious seam...
Well, to make it look cool you can make it a bridge from upper to lower ground...But that takes a while, though it does look as phat as anything!
