I don't know how to answer this one. I'm not looking for statistics, but I'm looking for answers of what people think anyone, including video game virgins, could pick up, start playing, and just love it!

You MUST be picking up statistic, cuz otherwise, that's just another "whats your favorite game ever" thread which I will delete anytime soon...

If not, I believe Mega Man was one of the top game. With somewhere near 15 "sequels" on about 5 different consoles, and still being popular, it passed the time test ;P

I'm not picking up statistics, or what do you think the best game ever was. For one, the Sims kinda kills statistics, and so does SC, and alot of other great games. If I wanted to know statistics, I would just do some research. If I wanted a best game ever, then I would have said that straight out, but best game ever is retarded, because everyone is different. All I want to know is if there is a game that anyone could pick up and just start playing without hate for certain aspects! Sorry guys, but that means bloody games are already out of this, because there are tons of people who hate seeing blood flying across the screen or on walls.

Mega man, I could see that. I mean, it is an addictive, repetative game that never seems the end... Though some of the games are really stupid! At least the Aniversery collection was cool.

Most likely, PacMan. I got a history update, and this game was the first ever "OVERLY SUCCESSFUL" game. It not only caused some of the discussion on how much time should people spend playing video games, but also was a gate for people to begin the video game era! Even my mom, a video game no no, has played and loved Pacman.

i would say halo 2, but its not out yet, but i must say Super Mario World. I've been playing that game since '93! And i didn't stop until i got my xbox. And i was born in '90!!!!!!!!!!

Halo is by far about the best 1 player 1st person shooter game ever.

Next for me is Counter Strike///Condition Zero. By far one of the best 1st person multiplayer shooter games .

Anything Mario. Being the first game for a halfway decent system it Look at all the games, the fan base. In certain parts of the world mario is god! Everyone has played at least one of the mario seriies.

MGS 3 was the most anticipated game for PS2 for the last couple months but now it's popularity failing...Oh well still get it anyway lol.

The Super Mario series, Goldeneye, and FF were all extremely reovlutionary games.

GTA: SA is more wanted.
They didn't do a good job with secrets. They told you all the new options like 6 months ago. ALl that isnt told is the story but MGS MGS2 were basically the same thing. And if they werent i wasnt paying attention to the story i was just shooting dudes from my box

Take in consideration these games were pretty much the only "good" ones available at that time... And it was literally revolutionary to have these at home. That contribuated more than alot to the sales.

The most popular game in my Town is, "Halo" Almost everyone I know keeps talking about that. Now their talking about part 2. And god. It sure bugs me. Some of my comrades are talking me about, "Halo 2" Their telling me stuff that I already learned off the internet. If you ask anyone at my hometown about Starcraft. There going to be about. Here are the results

95% People that never heard of Starcraft
2% People heard about Starcraft
3% People says it sounds similar.

There's an handfull of comrades at my hometown that knows about Starcraft.

Like I said it "Was" one of the most anticipated games for a couple months ago but now it is San Andreas.

I love Halo, plus the replayability and the newb friendlyness, add that to the online play and youve got a really good fps there.

megaman is pritty good, its somthing that pulls you in, and you can almost always get it for the systems out or some older 1s or just computer

Ya, I know how that feels! I'm a little sick of hearing about Halo! It's an kick ass game though! But after of hearing about it alot at my hometown! God, it's like an Halo Town! Lmao!

[center]Finally, people who aren't Super Awesome Pro-Halo Kick Ass like me. It's actually not that great of a game. It was pretty cool when it first came out. But it's not that great.

Here's the facts:

It use to be good, then other games passed it up in being good such as Time Splitters 2.
The multiplayer part of it is really boring. If you don't act like a complete computer tard and hook your X-Box up with more and play with 16 people or whatever, it's boring. Four people at the most running around in a big empty arena with like four different types of weapons. Other games have a lot more options for multiplayer such as Time Splitters 2.
It's old, graphics aren't as great as more modern games.
Stop saying it's the greatest game ever. Cause it's not.
