As some of you know Puerto Rico got hit by Tropical Storm Jeanne on Wednesday at 11AM.
Maximun sustained winds were 72mph and gusts up to 90mph. The storm had a lot of rain. Some places got about 20 inches of rain. I got about 7 to 8 inches of rain.
At my house, the winds were at about 60mph and gusts of 75mph. The light failed at about 11AM on Wednesday and then the water did fail at 3PM on that same day.
I saw lots of trees go down and I saw a couple of mailboxes flyby.

I slept quite well that night since it was rainy, windy and cold(71 fahrenheit).

The next day I had a pool in my wooden patio roof. I had to get up there with no ladder since the ladder was in the garage and the was no electricity to open it. When I got up the was fungus, mud, leaves and twigs inside the drain pipe. I had to put my hand in there and throw every single thing that ain't supposed to go through the pipe. I drained it with my bare hands and I had to jump down onto the grass from about 8-9ft high. I did all that with about 40mph gusts and heavy rain.

After that second rainy and windy day it go real boring. The water service came on Thursday at about 5PM so at least I could take a cold bath. The next day(Friday) was really boring, the entire island had no light execpt for like 5% because the light service restoration had begun. I played a whole heck of a lot of monopoly that day.

On Saturday(today) I cut a lot of damaged trees down and played some monopoly and went to the mall to get some stuff and Home Depot and my birthday present(Tuesday). I came home at Noon only to know there was no electricity. I slept only to be woken up by the whole neighboorhood shout THE LIGHT CAME BACK!(In spanish of course), at about 3PM.

I went and checked all the electrical stuff and found out my Big TV has a problem cry.gif . I changed some wires and now it works.

At about 7:30PM I come to my PC only to answer about 12 e-mails. Then I came to SEN and wrote this very post I thank you for reading.

Sounds like you had a rough time, did you say you had a swimming pool on your patio roof?

Yes I did.

My patio roof is like 30 degrees slope so its even easier for water to acumukate there.
The water reached right above my anklee, thats about 3-4 inches up there.

Point out that you didn't have a material pool up there, but rather alot of water tongue.gif

Was it fun overall? I mean, you'll be more than happy to tell that to your children later on biggrin.gif

Hehe I will tell my kids about this hurricane(The first one I actually had to go out during storm)
Hugo in 1989 Category 4
Georges in 1998 Category 3

Basicly I've had 3 hurricanes that passed the island like on the same week of my birthday...

I have a T-shirt that says:

I survived
Hugo 1989

I lost 3 days of school which was good and during the storm it starteled me to find it fun to watch the whole thing out the window.

Pffft that's nothing. I lost nearly 3 weeks of school because of that 1998 hail storm that completly owned Quebec. Cataclisms are fun happy.gif

Isn't Ohio often stormed by Tornadoes? Or was it floods? Or maybe sun (don't remember the word)...
