How do I take off the limit of upgrades, so that I can have up to 255 upgrades?

Use starforge, with scxe you have to use the buttons if you want to input a number past 9. In SF you can just type it in, but in SCXE it only allows one digit unless you use the buttons.

I do use SCXE(and SF for that fact on the map), but could someone actually tell me how? Not just, tell me what program to use. So far no ones helped me.

all you have to do is use xtra editor and start a map from there. I dont' know if you star from the staredit, then use xtra, the upgrades will change but you can change it back if it does.

Player--> Settings -->Upgrades

from there, set the default to whatever number you want.
