Some of you may have played this map already. But, I'm wondering if I should use a Dropship system for firing instead of the current method. It might be easier to operate, and I'm looking for your opinions.
A second method might be a Dropship/Shuttle system, one for up/down/left/right firing and the other for the four corners... whatever.
Need to know which way would be best.
If you order them in the dropship properly, I think its a good idea. Hotkeying all the robotics bays is rather annoying.
hey...... i made a rocket launchers map already....
but urs is probably better.

Anyone (besides me and Pr0) who can do the location lock trigger. Shout, becuase I have a very good idea..Wait..I'll just make that map.
Name: Kirby 64's Tile War.
Description: It goes in steps...
1.) You pick a direction with a civilian and a beacon.
2.) You have a 16x16 arena, and each player gets one seige tank.
3.) Siegeing the tank fires 'bound' explosions towords the enemy. Each player gets five lives.
You'll see when it's done nevermind..
What exactly did you find neat?
WTF does any of that have to do with giving me opinion on how to make my firing system?
You could use it.
I give you premission.
Actually when I re-read it w/o the game-ish part it seems quite useful. I don't want a map idea, I barely even get mine off the brain and into a map.

I want to know if the firing system in the map I posted is good or if I should change it over to a Dropship direction-selection system. -_-!
Definetely go with dropship system.
I'm not currently on a computer with Starcraft installed.
yes keep dropship system. very simple and effective like that
Also, remove the fog of war. For this type of map, the terrain doesn't need to be hidden at the outset since it's a competitive game and not an RPG. And yes, do the dropship system. This map looks very fun already

Instead of dropship, you could use the system I have for A&O where you order a unit at the center of the map to move to a cardinal point on the minimap (click on the minimap). I'll show how it works in my functionality demo when I get it finished (it's actually quite efficient and quick once you get the hang of it).
I think a dropship would be best if you set it up right, because you could hoykey it and click on the unit faster then hotkeying 9 different robotics bays

But then again Omega your chances of making a mistake in your direction a large, even if you enable them to enter larger than 1x1 areas, they might go to the left, useful if you want people to miss now and then, otherwise not! I'd personally have eight minimap pings which show the eight directions possible to take.
Dropship can carry eight though, so if you've got spare units it makes sense to use that system! Else i'd use yours, not thought about much, but something i've tried to use in the past.
