For the glow I am making using this formula:
A supply depot has 500 HP.
When you make a supply depot sprite with 10 set for HP you get the glow.
So for every 100 HP you set the HP for the sprite to
2 HP.
Remember to round up so a Science Facility has 850 HP Defualt.
So using the formula that means 12 HP. (Right?)
But..this isn't a PERFECT Forumula so if it doesn't work move the HP down or up one point. If it still doesn't work move it up or down one more.
This should work for every Terran unit with 100+ Hp.
Might work for Protoss too.

Hmm, wouldn't this go in Concepts? Nice discovery nonetheless! biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif Very nice indeed... I'm a bit confused about something though:

For every 100 HP you set the HP for the sprite to .5 HP. What does this mean? Does it mean that for a Terran Unit with 100 HP, you would set the HP to 50? (100 * .5) or would you set it to .5? helpsmilie.gif

Do you that it works through the Default Health, and so it would be 1500/100 times 0.5 to work out the level for it as a sprite

(Default Health / 100 ) * 0.5 = Sprite Glow (LEVEL)

It works through the set HP heath, since that is the variable that changes the wireframe color.

For everyone 100 HP you set the unit HP to .5 so I guess the unit needs at least 200 HP. But if you round up like I usually do 1 might work with a unit with 100 defualt HP.

so its not always perfect right?
the supply with 500 hp. .5 per 100 hp. so shouldnt that be like 3?

Oh shít. Did I put .5? ... What was I thinking, lemme go edit my posts.
It's 2 HP per 100..... So a supply depot is 10 HP. I'm sorry!!

(Default Health / 100 ) * 2 = Sprite Glow (LEVEL)

Terran Supply Depot
500/100 = 5 * 2 = 10 Health

Dude, sweet. I really needed that for my maps. Now I don't have to make the HP of all the units that I want to glow from 1-4. U forgot to mention. The glow works for units that have 1, 2, 3, or 4 HP. For those units, you place a 5 in the second hp box. Something like that anyway.

Jeeze... Rexy, did you already forget how I tought you this so long ago? Muahhahaha! I take my credit for being the first person to start actually finding a pattern in the wireframe glow. That's my one thing I take credit for on StarCraft. Can't believe you forgot how to do it, Rexy.

How do we know you're the first to find it out? And is there certain Formulas for certain colour effect?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2004-09-26 at 23:31:16
Yes there are formulas for certain glow effects. The glow I explained in this topic was the highest glow I could find. When you start killing the unit (A marine with 0 attack so it dies slowly), it goes to non-glow black/yellow. Then it goes through the blue colors. I forgot the rest I made a map researching glows.

And thats BS Kahoona tongue.gif.
