So in order to make them in random locations... would it be best to give them to a neutral computer, set them as invulerable, set them to junk yard dog, give them to player x, and then go forth

Or do a random grid.

So where's this at? Is there anyway I could make it non-random as well? Let's say I have a location 5x5 and want to place a unit every other square... so like
1,1 1,3 1,5
2,2, 2,4
3,1 3,3 3,5
etc

Would that also be possible?

So your saying a 5x5 grid, but you want it not in center? You want it on top or on bottom of that 5x5 location?

You have to make a 5x5 grid of 1x1 locations then label them and use them.

But how can I get a grid on a moving unit?

Use the Move Location Trigger.

I totally understand it now [/sarcasim]

I'm pretty positive if you have 25 1x1 squares and move them on to a 5x5 square... you'll have 25 1x1 squares all centered in the 5x5 loc (all in the same spot).

Edit: Seriously now... that was a stupid response. It's obvious the move location function would have to be in there somewhere.

Edit NOW: This is a test.

You don't make the moving grid., you just have a whole grid and use it like that. THere is no better solution.

Wrong! It's called a Grid System, and you should know about it, DT BK. You can get the tutorial maps for Grid Systems here and you can see a map where Grid Systems have been used in a practical manner here.
