I saw this debate somehwere, maybe a Gamespy grudge, but here it is on SEN!
Red Shirted Ensign: The guys frmo Startrek, they will ALWAYS die.
StormTroopers: I think we all know about these, but in case not, they're the white-armored soldiers from Star Wars, and will ALWAYS miss their targets.
My theory:
Red-shirted ensigns kick the crap out of the Stormtroopers, then some random accident like a meteor hitting them occurs.

Nah, Storm troopers win. They always have a Jedi accompaning them, and they have numerous so one or more shots in bound to hit.

But, they can't hit no matter what.
They don't always have Jedi with them. I hardly ever see any Jedi in the same area, with the exceptions of Jedi slaughtering them

Uh, you're probably thinking of clone troopers.
Oh, and did you know that stormtroopers are made from multiple clones, and that the bureaucratic process involved in selecting clone canditates results in, uh, some less-than-qualified candidates (an Imperial officer's cousin might be selected over the top graduate of a military academy, for example). That explains the horrendous marksmanship that has eventually become associated with stormtroopers. The more qualified stormtroopers are actually quite accurate, and those guys can kick the asses of those red-shirted ensigns any day.

They fighting each other because someone was wondering whether Always Dieing or Always Missing was a bigger sacrifice for Ultimate Cheap Bread and Butter Trooper.

That's when you run like hell and throw a grenade at the enemy. So all in all, stormtroopers win. They're issued 3 grenades when they're conscripted into the Empire.

Yeah, and the stormtroopers are actually bound to kill stuff when they toss grenades (unlike when they're using their blaster rifles). Do the red-shirted ensigns have grenades? I don't think so.
