The best strategy game(besides SC) is probably Age of Mythology. It's a pretty fun game. Warcraft 3 is fun, too.

Age of Empires, Command and Conquer, WarCraft. All these are some good strat games, but i'm not really a strat type person im more of a first person shooter
C+C and Age of Empires, both very good games.
i like warcraft 3 alot now, i just started playing it but its fun, another fun game is Stronghold.
I would say Age Of Mythology or Rise Of Nations. Both have about the same concepts. Except Age Of Mythology has the hero guys.
Lotsa RTS games coming out this fall watch for them

.
"Defend Your Castle"

Just Kidding.
Proably Age Of Empires
They stopped making Expansion packs though

not sc? then i say sc:bw thats fun and it looks so much different than sc (sarcastically)
but really i think that wc3 is, my faves are the elves cause they remind me of the toss kinda.......just kinda
[FONT=Times]A good strategy game is Age of Empires Gold
good
In it you can make little cutscenes with barely any trigger cr*p as well as advance in civilization and technology.
bad
The campaign gets boring, just the same thing over and over with only history as the storyline. Not too many play it on the internet.
Starcraft All the way! Who cares about other games
*Kow drools over the sc cd
I love all C&C games (except Generals and Zero Hour). I mainly love their storyline and their campaigns. But of course, some C&C games ain't fun multiplayer.
Oh, yeah. I also like WC3 and TFT. But the ending of TFT felt empty

.
Empire Earth is a VERY good strategy game. It's very realisitic. Example, you can't shoot through walls, aireoplanes needs to refule and fly around to attack. Cool units names, they are according to the names of the units howadays. Awsome graphics and you can't just win by massing a huge force. There are many ways of killing off a huge force easily. Oh and you advance ages like Age of Empire which was also very good game. Lead designer from Age of Empires made Empire Earth. The most basic age is Prehistoric age and you advance ages all the way to Space age. Cool game you should get it. Only downside is that...no cool triggers like sc you can only play the normal maps

BUt overall very cool game
Earth 2150 owns all (exceot Sc of course), except the editor sucks.
ROME: TOTAL WAR
91% on Gamespot
I add Hours of fun On empire earth...
But C&C Own them all with Red Alert 2: Yuri Revenge ^_^ Generals kick ass too.
Age Of empire is cool, but the multiplay suck...
Age Of mytho is pretty fun.
Final Fantasy Tactics I would say is the one of the best strategy games. Also a good one I've tried (only for about a half hour or so though) is Imperium Galactica. Anybody else agree that FFT is one of the best strategy games?

Rainbow Six, Raven Sheild. It's great because you can set up tactics and then watch to see if you tactics work with the team you choose, or play it yourself.
Best strategy would have to be Chinese Chess. It's much more complicated and strategic than regular Chess
sacrifice and all the c&c games. good old westwood still isnt messing up on em. but ppl said tiberian sun was horrible... i didnt like it alot but it wasnt that crappy...
Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns and Kohan: Ahriman's Gift both kicked ass. The new one (Kings of War) kinda sucks though. FF Tactics was also a good strategy game. My favorite strat RPG has to be Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.
Kung Fu Chess!

Damnit Chill, you and your kung pow chess. Go eat your cat

Do you know of any other real time chess games with shiny pieces
and cool kick-your-ass sound effects? And ive already eaten my share of

for the day, thanks.
I like normal chess, that game is so stragetic.
Chinese chess and "normal" chess as Mind Archon puts it is both fun to play. Empire Earth is still the coolest and most realistic strategy game.
What is the best strategy game (besides sc?)
Well then! I think I'd have to say Brood War!
