Is it posible to make a unit a location? And if so how?

I don't understand. "Make a unit a location".
A location can FOLLOW a unit.
(Action) Center Location... on marine.
Preserver trigger.

This will make it so that a location will always follow the marine.
This can be used a MILLION different ways.
For example, when your marine moves near a civilian, display a text message.
This works great for RPG's when you have to walk near someone to talk to them.

If I misunderstood your question, let me know.
Was a little miffed by it.

The Move Location trigger makes a location follow on a unit.

Umm isn't that the first thing I just said?

You cannot have more than 255 locations + 1 anywhere, so you can only have 255 units for locations, and the issue with the Move Location to a Unit is that it will centre on the unit to the Top Left downwards first, and if you have two of the same unit and two triggers for it to centre on, unless you add somethign to make sure they won't both go to the same unit...they will...

Bottom Left. Upwards.

locations are used in most triggers in the format of "Action at location", you really can't do "Action at unit"... it's like, you just CAN'T wheelie a HOUSE.

Peet Fargison the action you want is 'center location'

You will find it under Move Location in the actions list. It will read something like this

Center 'location 1' on 'unit' owned by 'player' at 'location 2'

Where location 1 is the location being moved to the unit is, and location 2 is where the unit already is (normally anywhere). Add a preserve trigger onto your trigger and the location will constantly follow your unit.

Note: Theres no reason to be overly technical when responding to a question like this from a person who identifies themself as beginner.

I no the center locatioin and all that good stuff, I was just wondering if it was POSIBLE because it would make things hell of a lot easyer.

EX: On a bound when you have the level with zerg larva, and if you touch them you die, if you could just go Current player touches larva at larva level kill all units for current player at larva level.
'
That would be much easyer then making 20 locations foloow 20 differnt larvas!

instead of having a location follow the larvae, have a location following the unit that runs happy.gif

then..larvae is at that location, kill teh lingz0rs

Move Location, follow zergling.

Kill zergling when larva is at location.

Because it is not possible to have 20 different locations following the larvaes, starcraft can't identify which larvae hasn't been centre located.

Peet, what we're trying to tell you is...

QUOTE(myself)
It's impossible to make a Unit a Location.

There. That's the shortest answer to your question. No need to talk about Move Location or all that.
