i thought my building was very flawed. the edges seemed messed. and the bottom left was nasty.
Look what happened with my building when i placed a high dirt.

Hmm..your building is okay I guess smile.gif Wasn't there another thread labeled "StarForge Terrain"? It had pretty kool underwater caves using pylon aura sprites. I forgot who made them though.

Note: Wo0t 300th post. I'm a member now tongue.gif

Does pylon aura cover units as well, or just the ground. (didn't know if it was different at all from normal one), and does it provide supply.

Someone may be able to do an Atlantis map with underwater buildings, that would be cool.

o yeah i saw that one. but that one had a variety of cool terrains. the underwater cave using sprites and pylon aura was done by qpirateking. i just made this thread so i can see the more better buildings.

did you look at mine?

It looks nice. I tried making buildings with space terrain it's so HARD. The terrain isin't good for making buildings. If you have a building that is not from the badlands terrain post it here please? I really want to know what terrain tiles you use if it is not from Badlands? You get what i am trying to say? In other words: If you can make a building that is not from the badlands terrain can you show it to me please?

Here is a cheap Building i made on "platform"...have fun... pinch.gif

Nice, i managed to do that but i couldn't get the top part cause it was hard to find the platforms that actually fit together. I was probably hard because I didn't really spend much time working on it... Like the door!

I'm very happy to see that my video tutorial was a success and people are picking up some awesome concepts.

What map are you guys talking about with the cave ans water effects?

Anyway it doesn't look that bad better than things I try to make tongue.gif.

I've been trying 2 things that have worked well. Balconies on buildings with snipers biggrin.gif. Idea form Yoshi's tutorial. lol. I've also tried making the inside of factories and buildings, and it's worked ok. They're not good enough to give for dl, but its a neat concept.

I've seen a dock made out of jungle terrain, and a pier made of twilight. Just gotta figure out the right parts. I agree, badlands is easiest though. Desert and Arctic are very hard, but jungle has temples which is a bit helpful with the stairs and stuff.

Hm...Badlands is the easiest Terrain to make Buildings...
But i don't think, that Desert is hard...It's possible...but it looks..ehm...ugly pinch.gif

Damn you guys are good at making buildings i never even made a building
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-10-07 at 11:46:39
Its not that difficult to make them basically like this, more important is how you work them into yours Maps that matter, like WoA-Fena made an impressive Minas Tirith with such terrain, and it looked superb!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-10-07 at 15:11:22
And give them purpose. It's fun to be able to 'go inside' buildings and have snipers on them and stuff.

I didn't even look at the tutorial to figure it out... it wouldnt run disgust.gif

anyway to do a dock in jungel... I DO IT ALL THE TIME. Its basicaly bridge terrain put on the waten then you take the other bridge that goes sideways and make an edge... Twilites the same way... use bridges
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-10-08 at 15:23:00
Great idea, I would have never thought of bridges. I also forgot desert had compound, thx for pinting that out Fanta. Arctic would have solid windowless buildings, but that's ok, I like arctic terrain, it looks really cool.

We have to come up with a list of what we can do with the terrain, I'll start:

building
inside of building
factory
weird bridges
rasied area to buildings
pavement
canals
high walls
temples

well a cool concept i picked up was that if you want there to be stairs or something but you dont want the players to build on it, use a tile from the walkable part on a bridge or stairs.
