id like to point out that it says Newbie, and now, when i first got it, it took a while for me to understand how to use it (20 min or so of playing around)

you might:
  • Have too big an image
  • Not a .Bmp image, only Bmps work
  • Too Many Colors unable to use (u need to change them in the progam)
  • Something wrong with your installation
  • (or as (U)Bolt_Head said) The "wrong" version
  • Opened the wrong map disgust.gif disgust.gif disgust.gif

i made a 128/128 map, placed start locations. saved. loaded it. loaded my image... (a small one, about the size of 9 cc'c in a group on the map) it did that color thingy, and i replaced the ones i had too, saved the map, and nothing happend.

EDIT: and i am using 1.0

Are you sure the image name you are using ends with .bmp? If it isn't a .bmp then it won't work.

are you using the right numbers? do you have the required files if there are any. i think you need VISUAL BASIC RUNTIMES or something like that.

Step1: Load Map
You must open a map that has a dimension of 128x128.

Step2: Load Picture
It'll help if you used a picture whit very low color depth.
You can use a program like Photoshop to reduce the colors of the picture.

Step3: Set Colors
Pick a color to replace from the list. Now get a tile number of the tile from programs such as StarForge.
Type the tile number in the "replace whit:" textbox.
Press "GO!" to set the tile to the color. Now when you press "Convert", the coloc on the picture will be replace whit the tile on the map

Here's how to get tile number whit StarForge:
In the master palette, multiply the first number by 16, and add the second number to the product. In the example provided above, the tile number should be 69.

Simple?
