So what do you guys want more? You can give your reason why if anyone wants to know. I think microsoft is gonna pull somethin outta there ass at the very last minute. Well by minute I mean maybe 5 months later. Incase not, I'm goin PSP all the way.

Im not sure, it seems like PSP is going to have a nicer interface, but nintendo already has alot of experiance with handhelds. Its a tossup for me.

PSP.
I think that the NDS is just an SP with an extra screen, just like the SP is an Advance with folding action. Just a way to get more money.

well from what i've seen and from what Nintendo claims, DS has more power than an N64 and from the screenshots, it looks true. DS also has some pretty sexy features smile.gif

PSP just looks like a handheld TV mellow.gif

You don't see what the extra screen means. You can now see 2 different things in the game which will make it so much more interesting. Look at starcraft. Imagine that they took out the minimap, wouldn't that suck? 2 screens can add lots of dimensions to games, so give it a chance instead of slamming it already.

Just a way to get more money. Tell me a company that doesn't do this. For your information: NDS: $150, PSP: $300+

Do you really want to play the same games year after year? Or do you want games that offer new ways to play them? It's not about graphics, look at Starcraft, look at Counter-Strike. They are EXTREMELY dated games, but they remain THE most popular games ever. This only proves that gameplay is the most important element in games.

Does the PSP have these features?

- microphone: for best communication
- touchpad screen: let's you poke it, and draw CUSTOM pictures... with the
- stylus: many possibilities with this
- foldable design: protects the SCREENS (less smudges/scratches)
- bundled pixtochat: think of AIM, except with 16 people
- 10 hour battery life: PSP has about 2-3 hours
- can play GBA games: 2 systems in 1!
- organizer: can function sort of like a pda
- 149.99 price: sure beats 300

All I can say about the PSP is it's expensive and lasts way too short, although it does have nice graphics.

No, it wouldn't, it be better because it would be easier to make tactical attacks. Also, this has nothing to do with it, imagine that they took it out, put the whole thing on another monitor. It'd be more likely to give your siezures than to help you.

Two things.
1) Those probably aren't guarenteed prices, they can change alot.
2) No one has listed almost any features for the PSP, so it might be worth it. I don't know, I don't know them either.

This seems to be a way to be even lazier than before. I always put my GBA or color in my pocket, and I've never once had a screen scratch. Also, if you smudge it, you can just wipe it off. It seems like a feature they're uber showing off to make it seem better to get more money.

Also, what about firing, theres no button to do it. You have to tap the screen. You can make scratches, dents, or even holes in the screen from it.

GBA can play game boy games. Bam, two sytems in one.

Once again, not guarenteed prices.

Dr. Shmeeps, try this experiment. Watch TV AND play GBA at the same time... OMG DID U GET SEIZURES!!!??!1one!

150 is final. If the price changes it'll be because the store gets greedy. And even if it does... won't it change for PSP as well?

How is it lazy? What if you have long nails and scratch it accidently? I'd rather have my screens protected than having to wipe it off EVERY SINGLE time I want to play it. As I said before, THEY MAKE CONSOLES TO MAKE MONEY. It's like saying fisherman fish to get money as your argument. I mean why would they do this, for fun?

Tapping the screen will not scratch, smudge or hole it. Look at PDAs, do you EVER see complaints about OMG THERES A HOLE IN MY SCREEN!!!11one!! And you are WAY off mark, there's multiple control schemes for metroid prime: hunters. If you don't like the tapping, theres the button layout.

QUOTE(Shmeeps)

So are you saying GBA is good? I said 2 systems in one because, if you don't have a GBA already, when you get this, it can replace it as a GBA. Nobody plays GBC games anyway since it's dead. When you want to play more games, you got the entire GBA library. When the PSP comes out, you will have to stick with the 10 games or so that is released for 50 bucks, while DS games are 30.

Okay, if the COMPANY that makes the system says it, I seriously think it's official. Just as everytime Nintendo has said a price for systems, it always comes true. They said GC would be 99 bucks? It came true. Once again if it IS overpriced, IT'S YOUR STORE, NOT NINTENDO. They said it publicly so it is 100% guaranteed at that price if Nintendo sold it to you.

Can you say...fanboys?

Seriously though, I kind of associate handhelds with kiddies today. I wouldn't get either.

Why not get a nice N-GAGE!!1

Yea, screw the DS and the PSP! Give me my N-Taco!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by StarEditron 4000 on 2004-10-23 at 18:03:28
well right now i'm not so biased for either machine, mostly because i haven't tried either! Once i try them, i will make a choice. After all, a console (or portable), lives or dies by the games it has.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by gftgy on 2004-10-28 at 14:53:09
the nintendo DS will have N64 graphics, meaning... STARCRAFT!!! they made starcraft 64 for nintendo when they also brought it out for computer

plus we'll still have the mini-map if they do that!

also, im not sure, mightve just been a rumor or sumtin, but isnt there like a wireless link up for the ds within like 300 feet?

w/e

the sony PSP is also going to be good, it can play mp3's, its also a mini-cumputer, it has ps2 graphics, and alot more...

that would be a cool edition to the nintendo handheld family, a handheld with the power of N64? whhhhhhooooaaaa SHVEET! but i think that PSP would sell more, just because it is like a mini-laptop but for hands....handtop?

Well, I'm not going to bother reading through the whole thread because I'd just like to give you guys this link. It's basically an editorial written by a guy I sort of know that puts PSP fanboys in their place. As for the DS, I'll just get an SP. Here's the link.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chill on 2004-10-28 at 16:47:42
Why? The DS is way better than the SP. Its the difference between the SNES and the N64... just their even more censored.gif ing different...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by gftgy on 2004-10-30 at 11:29:44
alright, heres the quick way to end this...

if you wanna know whats better, then ask all the retailers:

Microsoft, sony, and nintendo all say that its the games that sell the device, not the device itself

so, which one will have the most and best games?
