they are unlike terms; you can't combine them.
*hopes she's right*

Thanks biggrin.gif Yes, you are right. Lol I just tested right now.

Basically 2x2+2x2x2=12

2x2x2x2x2=32

I take math in spanish so I don't know what a derivative is.
Could you place an example?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative

it's pretty hard to explain...requires very high level math sad.gif

x^y * x^z = x^(y+z)
(x^y)^z = x(yz)
x^y / x^z = x(y-z)

So much for exponents. . .

One more for you Moose:

1/X^y = X^-y

Challenge:

X^4 = 1

Solve for all solutions of x.

greenreaper: that rules only aply to multiplication and division, look at this example:

2³ = 2·2·2
2² = 2.2

2³·2² = 2·2·2 · 2·2 = 2·2·2·2·2 = 2^5

= 2·2·2 = 2 = 2¹
2² .....2·2 .....1

You mean "(x^y)^z = x^(yz)"

Hmm... -i times -i equals i^2, or -1, and -1^2 equals 1, so -i^4 (or -i^2^2 if you wanna get really twisted) equals 1 as well.

let xcubed = 5(*7^5) tanget ratio. If * = c^5 (4-8) 9^6 (c*7)

What does xcubed mean?
