This is the system Im going to use to make my next RPG map. Keep in mind this is only a 1 player test map, the actuall map will be 3 or 4 players. Here's some notes.

-Dont continuously use the menu, it will throw stuff off, wait till your turn to use an option.
-Make sure to equip your items, (Load into Overlord)
-You can only have 1 weapon, 1 piece of armor (only 1 type of armor in demo) and 1 spell equiped at a time, you can have as many HP potions on you as you want.
- To sell weapons and Armor go to the sell beacon in the "town" it will sell all equipment next to the spider mine named Sell in your equipment area.
- In the actuall maps, you learn spells on levels u dont buy them like on here, and level ups will be more usefull.
- Be weary of bandits, make sure you have a decent weapon when figting them.
- 3 types of enemies in this demo, Wolf, Bandit, Balisk.
- Fights are kind of slow at first but will get faster as you get equipment.

I think thats all, give me all your feedback here, what you liked, what you disliked, what you would want changed or improved and any ideas for the actuall RPG map. Afterall, I'm making this for you all biggrin.gif

I like how you did that. Very good system, I like how the enemy randomly chooses its own attacks as well. The one thing that I did not like was that you had to hotkey three units. Maybe if you used units that take up 1 space in a dropship that would work better? Overall I like how you made the designs when you attacked/were attacked. I think once you get used to this it is a very effective battle system.

Great Job

Should Balisk be Basilisk?

A Basilisk is a giant snake right?

The way it works is good but there is a bug: The units aren't always in the same order.

Note: there is a period after one of the damage thingys it's minor, but I try to make everything perfect :/

Yeah the units in the dropship would switch out. The Ultralisk would stay in the same spot but the Defiler and Hydralisk would sometimes alternate. I think this battle system has potential, and there's plenty of room for improvement on it.

I would like to see the following in your map...

- Create an active time meter; And according to a speed attribute, it determines how fast the meter fills up. And whos ever fills up first, will be the one to go first.

- Make it so that you randomly battle enemies with steps instead of running into them.

Edit: Also, a feature to escape from battle would be nice as well.

I really like that system. The only thing that I could suggest is adding initiative.

All it needs is ATB, and random battles tongue.gif.

Can get repetitive. I hope your map with this idea allows for PVP, not just PVM. Also, try to spice it up more if possible:). And add like critical hits and crap like that! This has potentiol.

I had planned on adding an escape feature and now i will, I never liked the run around random battle thing, but Ill see what i can do. And Ill definatley add a Timer system to this.

Yes, the full map will have PVP actually, on part of it, itll be required for a certain quest. And I might add critical attacks for both player and monster, depends on how smoothly iI can incorporate it.
