I Just wanted to see what people would think of what i've completed so far
.:Turn Based Battle System:.
- To start it just walk up to the zealot which will only spawn 1 or 2 enemies in this demo because im still working on some bugs with 3 and 4 enemies.
- The only options you can preform as of now are normal attacks
- Any character not selected by a player will be controled by the compter
- Sometimes when someone it attacking it will kill a zergling (which calculates the amount of life the players has) or it will sometimes kill more than 1 which i like to call a critical hit or even kill none which i call a miss ^,-
.:24 Hour clock:.
Dosn't really do anything right now except make it harder for you to see at night but it will eventually play a role in the story where you can only do some things at certain times of the day.
- Sunset is at 8PM
- Sunrise is at 6AM
.:Leaders:.
The reason I did this was because im going to make it so you can talk to every NPC and enter every single house in the game and the only way i could think of doing that is by reusing locations and just centering em on the houses and people when you enter the town so i made the group follow the leader to keep people from being in more than 1 town at once.
-You can change the leader of the group by moving your civilian at the bottom to to person you want to give leadership too but only if that character is controlled by a player
The battle system for this RPG is sooo awsome!
/w me if you ever need testing

o man a kenshin rpg awsome >.< i love the tv shows >.< i can help you test also if needed just whisper me
I'm also simultaneously working on a Kenshin Bound but all I've really done with that so far is the picture which I hand drew
I'll probably put hints for secrets in the RPG somewhere in the bound and vice versa
pic wont load

just copy and paste the link
http://www.freewebs.com/rishin/images/KenshinBoundPic.jpghonestly, i think the battle system is really uhh boring. all you do is watch them attack each other. you dont control it at all. and the chars(Kenshin sanosuke yahiko kaoru) their strength arent balanced out. i know in the anime, kenshin is the strongest but you need to balance it out.
24 hour clock sounds great, is the clock system like the starcraft sims?
Its cool nd all, but I personally didnt have the patience to even finish one battle

. This has potentiol though.
my friend showed me the movie and IT HAD SOO MUCH BLOOD ill test that map just make it bloody dude
RiShiN, formerly l)aRk(v)aRiNe-, no doubt is a skilled mapmaker, in all categories... having said that, patience is a virtue and you guys know I'm all about vices. I can't stand how long the battling takes in the map... sorry buddy

ok I'll see what I can do with the battle system and as far as the clock wolf I've never played sc sims but it just goes from 1:00 to 12:00 then starts all over again and says AM or PM to the left of it
what would you think if I were too just making a cloaked wraith starting at the attacker's position then order it to the target while something is dieing underneath? it would defiantly be faster and look better

Anything is worth a try, go for it Rish.
You could enable control, or allow the creation of spells/actions by the users to do while their computer control fighter attacks the other computer.
This map has slow gameplay which puts players down.... This should be faster gameplay to make players feel fun!
Nice avatar ( the blizzard one lol ) Sounds sweet but im going to just wait for it to be completed.I also got another kenshin avatar dark i'll post it for you:

the map has good ideas, but really slow gameplay...
Well I've been working on this (slowly

) and I’m almost done remaking the battle systemm. Also I attached a trailer that I made a while ago (its is pretty much just the opening scene and the dialogue at the end is kind of cheesy)
Enjoy

Oh yeah thanks for the avatar OvErRuN

Slow gameplay is inevitable in turn-based systems...
Say, on a graphing calculator, turn-based systems are fun to make and play, but in Starcraft maps they can get pretty gruesome. Personally I'd stick to action-adventure RPGs...
24-hour clock's pretty cool, maybe you could make certain monsters appear only in certain times of the day. Reminds me of the Pokemons for Gameboy Color and later.

You can increase gameplay within Turn Based by allow easy/quick to use "spells" and "objects" to work for players, even if the units are controlled by a computer.

Yeah but I made it way too slow and I like the way im remaking it right now alot better. It's pretty much the same thing but its going 2 be faster and make things easier on in the long run when I have to worry about defending and upgrading attack and defence.
How about...
Wait, that'll just give out spoilers for my Blazing Fang RPG Part 2...
The battle system will be neat...
Okay, I'll give it to you...
Make units have like a moving square, like move only one space, left or right, up, or down.
Then, after you move you choose an attack if it's your turn, or defend it it's his turn. When you attack, you obviously choose which enemy you want to attack (This'll be like Megaman Battle Network) But, you choose a target on the enemy, Head, Body, or Legs.
If you're defending, you choose which one to defend: Head, Body, or Legs. If you defend the one the enemy's targeting, you block it. If not, you get damage done to you.
Well, this is just an idea for a new battle system.
Remember, I'm gonna make it so you can only stay on your side of the maps. You can claim more grounds with spells.
Guess its a good idea but im making it so that it usually just blocks 1/2 damage but there will be a small chance that it will block full damage
Still; it will run slow, you'd need to make battles last no longer than a minute or less for normal units, and no more than three minutes for the bosses. Else it would bore the players.
Dude wtf are you talking about? An enemy should take 2-4 hits at the same level as you, and bosses should take 20 minutes-1 hour. That's why Prince of Persia is such a good game. Well, bosses should be challenging, and should have a strategy, major strategy, which would be figured out after one or two times versing it...
Whoops, a TBC Boss should take 3-10 minutes to beat, but an Action/Adventure RPG Boss should take 20 minutes to one hour...
Yes, but in Starcraft, you can't take that long, it would be pointless if they repeat the same action for a few hours...
Johnznothere78, noone going stay 1 hour on 1 boss damn man =/
