umm how do u make the upgrades go passed 3 up and to 255

Normaly my responce is to get SCXtra. But since you said in another thread that you can't use it for some weird reason you can go with the old method. Use GUedit.

PS. Starforge and or SCM Draft might be able to do it too but im not sure.

Grr... i tried dling all of those programs u just said but my computer wont unzip them and turn them into a program so

i do have a firewall and no i deleted spy ware it got annoying.... hmm... i do not have WinZip

Gosh windows should have an agreement with Winzip to Include it with windows its like not having a word processor.

You know spy ware is the bad things you get from just even connecting to the internet. Ad-ware is a program that gets rid of the spy-ware stuff.

Oh well i guess your screwed then cause you couldn't run it even if you did extract it.l I don't have a mac so i can't really tell you how mapmakers get anything done with a mac. I belive Emeral Edit works with macs but it isn't offered here. Basicly we can't help people who use macs much here.

You can use the starcraft Emerald 2.0 mpq file to change the way staredit works, and it gives you most of the capabilites of starforge. You have to have an unpatched version of starcraft, I think, because the newer version broke staredit for mac.

You have to find "Starcraft Mac Data" and replace it with the .mpq file you want by renaming the .mpq to "Starcraft Mac Data", and when you run staredit, it'll change it. But save the original in case you need it. These should probably be in another starcraft folder aside from your regular game.

I attached a .sit file, but if you still can't unstuff it, I can e-mail the actual files to you.

Correction: .sit files cannot be attached. I'll have to e-mail it.

to actually answer your question what you do is you go to scenario, then unit upgrade settings, then you type in 255 for max ups, then for instant ups you type in 8739 hope that helps

you can only do all of that with starforge or draft...i dont think you can do it with the map editor sc came with.....or can you..

You can do the instant ups with it (thats the whole point of the large number). But you can't do the 255 max with plain Staredit.

WinZip is such a stupid program. THat's why I love Windows XP. (own zipping program).

Oh i forgot about that zip thing in XP. I hate windows XP though. Although it does have that one benefit it offers the homosexual interface, as well has heterosexual one.

the zip program that comes with windows xp sucks. Try taking it to a different computer, or simply have deepfreeze running when you are trying to zip something and you will find, once you try to open the ziped file, that you can't! Also, to run starcraft xtra editor, you MUST install it in the root folder of starcraft (by default this is c:\program files\starcraft ). Starcraft xtra editor won't work if you install it in a folder that doesn't have staredit.exe in it, because starcraft xtra editor is based and uses staredit. (Trust me, I am talking by my experience.)
oh ya, I don't like windows xp (even with all of it's new features) because of all of the security issues it has. (I have been attacked by a virus only twice when I had windows 98, but I get attacked by virus, with windows xp, every 5 minutes. )

winzip is a nice program but it sux compared to winrar u can even "re-rar" a "rared" file although im not sure if it makes it smaller, and rar compacts files better than zipping them

I have had trouble with winrar, although I like it's repair zip file feature ... I like powerarchiver the best (you can get it at power archiver's website)

Macs

Try http://www.campaigncreations.org/ and go through there Starcraft Programs, some of them work for Mac, and WinRar should run in Mac's if i remember...why don't you have a platform on your Mac to enable usage of Windows programs!
