Okay, Dunno if this is right, (correct me if I'm wrong). You make reavers send out scarabs, remove reavers and their attacking target then run AI Script called Junk Yard Dog at the location then preserve trigger.

Sooner or later, the scarb has to blow up, even if it doesn't hit it's target. So, I think he might of done it using a sprite.

I'm pretty sure it isn't sprites because they have different properties, but i may be wrong.

First you need to make the scarabs attack something then move the scarabs to another location. At that location you make them Junk Yard dog
Trigger for p1(comp)
Trigger
Description:
Making scarabs go crazy
Players:
¤ Player 1
Conditions:
¤ Whatever
Actions:
¤ Move scarabs for Player 1 to "location X" to "Location Y"
¤ Run AI script Junk Yard Dog at "Location Y"

Haveawhole bunch of reavers attackin a target, then move all the scarabs at that location to the location you want the scarabs to roam. Then use the junk yard dog AI script to have them roam around.

Just a thought...
Can you just place Scrabs with X-tra and then use "Junk-" Script?

No,becuase scarabs dissappear at the start.

Do sprite scarabs disapear?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Paella on 2004-10-23 at 18:49:19
No, they don't disappear, only the units do, and the way Rexy said to do it is the correct way, but remember, they have to leave the reaver, they can't just be sitting inside of it. To make them leave and not blow up you could make a mineral wall and then place a unit behind it, the units will aim for it, but the scarabs will never get there.

Youjust need a hyper trigger to move the scarabs so they never make contact with the target leaving it with full HP.

You can also control where scarabs move There's an explanation of how to do it in the new Tutorials Database though it may not work. There are some problems with it. If it doens't work, the information on how to do it is in the old Tips and Tricks database in the Clan (U) section.

See? I told ya I know this from experiance on starcraft's campaign maps, and from testing it on my own custom maps. (I also found, when I owned a scarab that went into terran that is covered by fog of war, I would be able to see what is there.)

Youcould give them a unreachable target, so then they zoom around. I'm not sure this will work though, but give it a try. 300thpost.I'ma regular, W00T.

If the scarabs do explode just Set unit Hangar for the reavers and preserv triggers so they keep making scarabs so when it dies it will still continue to fire so then you won't lose any scarabs.
