helpsmilie.gif Is there any way to make archons that are still merging w/o using sprites? Do sprites crash SC most of the time? I only use the green click thing and sometimes the red dot but when i tried the merging archons i couldnt open my map... oh and the Goliath & tank turrets... can i use those in a map as like... defence? confused.gif i dont like sprites... but Zerg building rubble is tight! stupid protoss pylon glow... i cant make it work... =\

Well there is a sprite difference here.

There are pure sprites which cannot crash starcraft and are simply images. They can be walked over (I think) and are unclickable. YOu could place a merging archon as that.

Then there are unit sprites, Some can crash SC but most don't. i rarely use them so i wouldn't know. Placeing the merging archon as a pure sprite should work.

Otherwise make two comp HTs merge and set merge time to 9999.

I suggest making the merge time 9999 (Like DT said), becuase the merging sprite will crash Starcraft.
There are only certain sprites that crash SC all the time, it tells you in StarForge in the sprites layer in the sprites mode.
I am also fairly confident that goliath and tank turrets will also crash SC. Once again, just look in StarForge.

I thought that SCMDraft had a unit of morphing archon or something? I could be wrong, but I assumed that it did. I would check, but I don't have SCMDraft on this computer...

It probably does, but seeing as I do not use SCMD too often, I would assume that it would crash SC too.
And does SCMD have a sprite section that says what sprites crash and which ones don't like StarForge?

which cannot crash starcraft

Yes, as RexyRex posted.

And I would suggest the merge time be 65535.

Pure sprites do not affect the game in any way, meaning the pylon aura sprite does not replace the true pylon. Sprites are basically just for looks.

Sprite-units are sprites that have the "Draw as Sprite" box unchecked, making them a unit. Sprite-units are different than normal units though, like the Start Location. Placing a sprite-unit Start Location will make it show up in game, and you will be able to attack it, click on it, etc. Sprite-units also keep their original Starcraft HP over the HP you set. Example: Say you set the marine's hp to be 10, and the normal marine in Starcraft has 40. The sprite-unit marine will have 40/10 hp in-game. Sprite-units can also be pre-disabled, giving more weird options in Starcraft.

I've never known you to be able to make computers merge High Templars into Archons, so go with the pure sprite idea instead.
