Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Ultra Speed Units

I joined a game last night in which the units were moving in ultra speed. Ghosts were running around the map faster than zerglings could. I was wondering how this was possible so, I tried to open it using SCXE 2.6 and it wouldn't open. Anyone know what I could use to open it and check it out?

i think the person used the either 2x speed for 8x speed

Add a P14 unit before any other units. This is how you achieve the effect. The map was "protected" and is not allowed to be opened.

What he means is, add a P14 map revealer, scarab, or intereceptor into the upper left corner of your map. This way it will be the first unit loaded when the map runs. Then the units will move faster, but that makes ALL units move faster. It wouldn't explain why a ghost would move faster than a zergling. Unless the zergling was being slowed down with triggers.

I think he meant the ghost moved faster than a hero zergling would in normal speed.

Do you need X-tra 2.6 to do 2x Speed

I believe you need either Starforge or SCMdraft to place Player 12+ units. You can only place players 1-8 in normal x-tra and need special mode for placing P12 units, so I'm pretty sure it requires Starforge/SCMdraft

Here are the real instructions.

PLAYER 14 -

•How to get 2x and 4x speed.

Place a map revealer(for 2x speed) or an interceptor/scarab(for 4x speed) anywhere on the map. Make sure this player 14 unit is the FIRST unit on the map. If you already have units on your map, find the unit you first placed(probably a start location for player 1), and change the ID of it to the unit and player you want, and place the start location for player 1 again. This will make the unit for player 14 be placed first on the map. If the unit is placed after, all units placed before will be frozen(like not even any animation), uncontrollable, and can not die(sometimes crashes). Note that the faster the speed, the more glitchy the game.

•How to freeze units(types 1 and 2).

Type one:
This is the one I mentioned above. Just place a player 14 map revealer -after- all the units you want frozen to be placed, and -before- the units you want unfrozen. The unit's hp will not go below 0, the unit will have no animation, the unit will not die, the unit can not be controlled or moved. The units will also be covered in fog, but you can still see them and select them.

Type two:
This one is different, what you do is place a marine or other ground unit for player 14 on -INVALID TERRAIN-, so it will come up with an unplacable error in the game. All pre-placed units will be frozen, but are still animated and can die. The fog also covers them and you can select them. Killing certain units will crash the game.

•How to get a weird walking-in-place effect...

This is really strange, just place a scanner sweep for player 14 before all other units, and in the game, if units are moving when the scanner sweep finishes, they will be stuck in their moving animation. Killing any of them crashes the game(I think). Some can still use abilities and carriers can use interceptors even when the carrier is 'stuck'. You can cloak, but can't uncloak.

8x SPEED DOES NOT EXIST!!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLACE PLAYER 14 UNITS IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER.
