Wrong. Triggers with comments or lots of switches and triggers with comments can make a trigger limit out of the string limit. Such as display text etc.
I'm not too sure about triggers without comments.

Well, since you don't know, then you can't say I am wrong. But my guess is 65536 since that is the limit on just about everything that doesn't already have an existing limit.

Actually, I do know, I have reached it before when rigging a matrix map for some friends. And it's not 65536, it's 65535, you were one off tongue.gif. Somewhere DT told me the string limit, lemme go check.

1) There is no trigger limit

2) Triggers are limited by your use of Comments (1028 string limit), Create Unit with properties Actions (128 per map) and switches (256 per map).

lol I dicovered it when I made a map called Laggy Map
lol I just used every trigger like over 200 times and preserved them!
*No I didnt use the comment or display or switches
And then i just copied them i selected everything on the thing for what player.
lol so it made it extra laggy.
I did it cause I was bored and wanted to find trigger limit.

LoL you were in a dream state.

PS. Just because you can only have 255 switches doesn't mean you can't have 1000 trigger refering to the same 255 switches. The max switches are compleatly unrelated.

Ok here are limitations:
254 Locations (255 if you count Anywhere)
65535 Triggers
1024 Strings

Hope this helps.

Bolt_Head, Edited post to correct values (don't know about triggers)

StealthyDeath was right the first time, there is no trigger limit. There isn't a variable (for the lack of a better word) in the CHK specs for the number of triggers, StarCraft just keeps on reading triggers until it gets to the end. The only limit is the section length header for the TRIG section. Technically the trigger section could go up to 4 GB, but most Windows systems can only handle files up to 2 GB, and you would still need to leave room for the other sections of the map anyway.

Another way to put it, would be to say, you'll never hit the trigger limit unless you are going out of your way to do it.

guess i wasnt nub'd by links! lol. On to the next and prolly last question, will the "load next map" trigger thingy work on Bnet if a player has the map that is intended on being loaded next already downloaded. Example.

Player Brings 1 Marine to "Finished"

Load Scenario FatPiglet after completion of game

(or whatever its supposed to be)

and if so, can I make it so all players join the next map together? Im guessing a no on the first part, and if that is the case, dang they should make you able to do that. (so youd be able to make different areas to join with different terain within the same game)

Answer is no, you are not able to load the next mission, because it will say it isn't present, although it may not work for the normal player as well, just saying it cannot link. Try it single and then with others with and then without it.

Is there an action in stareidt that says "load next scenario"?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2004-10-25 at 18:20:41
Yes, and it only works for single player.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by gftgy on 2004-10-25 at 18:23:15
THE TRIGGER LIMIT IS WHEN IT STARTS GETTING LAGGY BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF TRIGGERS!!!

(DEUURRRRRHH)

Battle.net games completley ignore the "Load mission scenario" trigger, even if everyone in the game has the next map.

That trigger only works in 1 player, it's not ment for bnet.

Yes, and it is noobish and pointless; the trigger limit has already been discussed.
