Report, edit, etc...Posted by UBCS on 2004-10-26 at 00:13:02
Well i made a little tutorial to teach you how to make your own .dat file for a station 55 trivia bot and i was hoping yall could post it in the tutorials, here we go..

First off you will need to own Station 55 Trivia Bot (don't ask me were to get it).

Now that you have your station 55 trivia bot, go into your bot's folder and then click on the folder titled "data."

After that is open you will see some folders labeled:

BotFiles
Questions
Skin
Users

Now click on the one thats labeled Questions.

After clicking on the questions folder you should see these items:
[vL]Rules List (folder)
largerwords (.dat file)
trivia (.dat file)

Now right click on the one labeled "trivia", then select copy; and then right click in empty space in the folder again and click paste.

You should now have two trivia (.dat files). Now double click the one that says.. "Copy of Trivia (.dat file)." Now it will pop up with a window that says:
You are attempting to open a file of type " (.dat). Select Open with and then click select program from list. Then select okay. Now your in a browser of finding the program you want to read the (.dat) file with. To read this file I use Notepad, but you can use such programs as WordPad also. After you select the program you wanna read / edit the .dat file with it will then pop up with the file that has all the questions. The first two lines should read...

[Trivia]
Name the large mountain chain in the eastern USA.?|The Appalachians

Now that you see that you may edit the second line and put your question in it.
(In other words deleate the Name the large mountain chain in the eastern USA part). *Make sure you leave the |. It separates the question and the answer.*
Now after you have edited all the questions you want edited you simple click file save. If you want to change the file name of the (.dat) file you simple right click the icon and click rename. After renaming it to whatever you please you then can do two things.

1) You can set your .dat questions to auto-start (meaning use them always when the bot logs on). To do this you go into your config file in your station 55 main folder. After in there you should scroll down a little and read something named:

Auto Start File=

Which you can then put in the .dat file name you want to auto-log in with. *You dont have to put .dat at the end of it.*

Or you can..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2)Set the .dat file when you wanna use it which u just click start trivia when your in the bot and select your (.dat) file.
And there you have it your own trivia file.
IF you have any questions please feel free to ask.
PS: You may not make a SEN (.dat) trivia file, because im already making one tongue.gif
Editing Set's Tutorial:
Need help editing the sets for the bot? (need help editing colors / what it says when you log on it and what it says for hint).
1st you click on your station 55 trivia bot folder.
Next you go to your data folder.
Then you go to the foldier named Botfiles.
Now in your Botfiles folder scroll down and select the file named:
Sets
From there you can view how your bot says the questions .etc
From there yall should understand what to do to edit it. Oh, and all you do is save it when your done!
Editing Cash For Each Question Tutorial:
This is also very simple, all you do is load up your station55 folder, go into your data files, then double click Botfiles and select BonusPoints. When your there you can edit the # of bonus points you get per question. *note: line 1 = question 1*
And it's as simple as that..
Usually the feedback forum is to leave a post to alert the admin of bugs, to tell him how he's doing a good or bad job, or to leave suggestions and ideas. This post wasn't meant for me, so, how'd you figure it belonged here?
> Garbage
