We all wish we could observe games in Starcraft, especially when 2 pros go at it.
I have a match set against a rival that people wish to watch, but I suck at map making.

I want to edit BGH so that 6 people can watch your one on one.
I still want the "duelers" to be able to start at a random location and all.
As for the observing people, I want to make them lose their buildings and get toss observers so they dont interfere.

I've experimented already and figured out how to do stuff with "Forces" and Triggers
I'm still unfamiliar with triggers.
Currently I set 3 forces
One dueler, another one, then the audience
I made a couple triggers for the audience so they lose their buildings and get toss observers. I tried testing vs a comp and i'm getting victories/losses instantly even tho i set the trigger so that the duelers don't lose if the audience lose buildings. Occasionally, I'm losing my buildings even tho i'm a "dueler".

Main questions:

Is there a way to allow the duelers to automatically give vision to the audience?
Is there a way to that lock shared vision? (so duelers don't see what the audience does)
If i set a trigger for the audience force to lose their buildlings at the start of the game. Why do i sometimes lose mine?

Its probably not too hard for you guys to clear this up, or make it in 2 seconds because it seems relatively simple. I just don't staredit well enough.
So please repond soon. Or if anyone is really nice, just make it so I can study it =P

Ray

I attached what i did for now, I havent tested it with real people yet to figure out the problems.

its simple to make just put the watchers in another force with no triggers and have scm draft place the map revealers so you can see the entire map.

The observers have to comply anyways, or they could just set there and give the other player the inside scoop on what the other guy is doing.

theres no point in making a bgh map with obs for pros... the pros wont even try playing it.

You can just watch the replay i guess. Really no point to observers

well the replays arent that reliable, i was recruiting with my map on UMS and i saved the replay and it was messed up because all it shoed us doing was mining minerals with probes the entire time.

Ok...forget the observers...make about 4 locations and when you bring a unit to one of the triggers it creates a map revealer and a loaction for about 10 seconds and removes...

how can you create a location and what would this method do. i dont really understand could you explain it for me please?

Say there were 3 bases and you put 4 locations in each...and 12 locations where your civ is or other unit. and when you bring the unit to one of the locations it will create a observer at the base you picked...

Or like this:

Player: Player 1

Conditions: Bring one terran civillian to 'location 1'
Actions: Create One protoss observer at 'location in base'
Actions: wait for 30000 milliseconds
Actions: Remove all protoss oberver for player 1 at 'location in base'

I did it in typing because i cant do the trigger button.

ya but that wont allow them to see them during the entire game all they would see is the fog of war. so basically just go with my idea. also wouldnt it be weird to have civilians walking around in the base?

That happened 'cause u prob'ly saved the game while u played it... that usually screws *.rep files big time! disgust.gif

Oooppsss... Nevermind what I've said. pinch.gif It was an online game...

But u can do a search on ur PC 4 *.rep files with that same (search) feature. Maybe u've missplaced the replay file without noticing... ermm.gif

Sometimes messing with the speed of the replay screws up the replay itself...I find it's best to keep the replay on the same speed that the game was played.
