Minimoose made Ubërena a while back, though as far as I can see people on B.net definitely are NOT playing it like they do Team Micro Arena. Killer2001's Zig Zag Tug o War 2, on the other hand, has successfully replaced Zig Zag Tug o War 1, albeit there's still the major cloggage problems.

Anywho, back on topic. I'm beginning the terrain for my next map, Straterena. It's basically, in a nutshell, another SENer's attempt at replacing Team Micro Arena, which currently dominates B.net as the only "Arena" game played. Yeah, there are team fortresses, but Arenas, in my opinion, are where a player controls many units and basically creates a microcosm of the real Starcraft battles: real strategy same Starcraft unit stats... just in bite-sized scales.

Straterena takes TMA to the next level:
  • Three different Arenas to suit Ground and/or Air battles
  • Moose's idea of creating the units you want instead of choosing predetermined unit groups
  • More terrain/doodads to take advantage of
  • Ability to occupy Neutral buildings, e.g., Bunkers/Shield Batteries
  • Choice of Neverending Arena, which eliminates Defeat triggers, and Victory only if all enemy players have left the game.
  • Choice of Free for All
  • Choice of Last Man Standing, where players start on two teams like always and, after one team is defeated, the remaining team turns on itself into Free for All
  • Your ideas here
Basically, I've gotten tired with making RPGs, so I'm sorry if any of you have been waiting for finalization of World of Stacraft 2. tongue.gif This is what happened with World of Starcraft 1, too... which is why most of you reading this will probably have no idea what World of Starcraft 1 even is. Nah, RPGs are too time consuming and no longer popular on B.net nowadays... besides, the only place I'm making RPGs now is on my TI-83+ biggrin.gif

Hopefully the map will be ready for the map night after the upcoming ones... 'course, since I've never made any Arena maps, that's really not for me to decide.

Never mind 3.

There will definitely be MORE than 3 Arenas... map size will be 256x256.

Players will vote on which Arena they all play on for every minigame.

The Arenas will be either Small, Medium, or Large: 64x64, 96x96, 128x128.
