Im thinking about adjusting units that will fit right in the Starcraft universe for the next map that i may possibly make. I dont mean setting stats to 9999999, because they shouldnt be too powerful. i mean units with abilities or different attack types. the following three is from a UMS called squad support
-A dt (called a theif) that steals money when it destroys a building
-A group of burrowed lurkers that are always under an overlord
-A vulture that repairs buildings
Of course theres the one
-A dropship that drops a unit (the bomb), and that unit does radial damage when it hits the ground
So i thought of some:
-a dropship that drops spidermines (a support unit)
-a seige tank (invincible in seige mode and reduced dmg) under a valkeryie. so the siege tank would be the valkeriy's ground attack
-wraiths that are always cloaked
-zealots that have "prototype shields", so they are randomly invincible for a few secs at a time
-cowardly zerglings that burrow when the enemy is near (of course you could unburrow them, but its more management)
do any of you have any thing to add?
shouldnt this be under group projects? im not sure but i think it does seeing as he needs ideas.
but dragoons could be like unstabled cannons while photon cannons are stabled cannons by stabled i mean moveable
no, i could see this under concepts. because he's giving ideas, as well as asking for more.
i was thinking a crossair with a phonton cannon below it
and a CC witha sunkan below it ( not sure if that would work though)
well heres some:
Combat drop ship-along the lines of a Huey, maybe with a kind of upgraded mg attack with the ability to drop units.
Ground Assault Craft- Take a valkyrie and adjust it to do a kind of splash missle attack, but against ground targets.
Aerial Fortress - Very slow craft, so slow that its almost completely defensive, but with incredible firepower, and maybe a ability to garrison a small number of aerial craft for repairs?
Demolitians Expert - Infantry that drops mines, does melee siege damage to buildings, and when advanced, can drop a nuke.
Ground Fortress - Combination of a bunker, missle turret, automaticly placed and regenerative spider mines, and 3 marines and 1 firebat
Thats all mine for now, tell me if you need more

So how do you plan to do all this? It sounds cool but it seems a bit un doable. Like the vulture repairing buildings, how do you plan to make it repair buildings?
Upgrade for firebats that give them one or two rockets a piece that they can reload on a beacon or something. Maybe rocket packs for marines? OH OH, make heros units like in wc3.

well all of it seems way to undoable, alot of reediting the units, to much change. But someday...
He could do the hero thing. All he would have to do is use a beacon system or drop system or any kind of ability system.
Actually everything mentioned IS in fact doable.
All units can be edited and changed in nearly every way imaginable through various programs that camsys released.
However, this requires major MPQ changes and can not be played ON BATTLE.NET!
Only a IP or other similar connection with multiple computers WITH THE SAME MODIFIED MPQ, etc, can play together.
I think he means doable on b.net.
Repairing vultures as an example of... I dunno...
Always - Center location on Vulture (hero): "VULTURE-REPAIR"
Current player accumulates at least 1/4 cost of building
Current player brings at least 1 building to location: VULTURE-REPAIR

Most of the stuff he just has to move location and create a tank there and such. Come on simple as that. The vulture though... thats kinda odd...

Uhm, didn't the mapmaker said he wanted to be able to play maps over B.net. That means he doesn't have access to anything drakiel mentioned, because it's not playable over Battle.net.

Actually I only mentioned one thing and that was the way to make repairing vultures possible through b.net. Incredibly simple, but it's just an IDEA to work off of. All of FunkySensubean's ideas all doable on SC. NONE of Unholy Sentiniel's ideas would work on b.net, though the concept can be taken from his idea. (no offence Unholy)
