This is just a small trailer for my new game...Its just the main story and some clips of what the gameplay will acually look like. The main thing im working on in this map is really cool AI, And im hoping to achive a way to make the game equally hard with 1 player or with 5 players. As you see on the trailer players that are not controlled by humans will be controlled by the computers and will follow any of the remaining players. Also you can see you will be able to do special stuff such as call for airstrikes, Set bombs, ect. ect. Anyway I would like some feedback and some ideas from you guys if you don't mind... Well here it is. Enjoy!

Thx...As for the % along for the first map...Well i would put it as my signature or whatever but...Im dumb and I don't know how lol. But right now im working on perfecting the AI. It still has about a month to go...(good thing since the trailer said coming nov 2004 smile.gif So id say its about um...5% done it will be a really big map, and its going to take me a while to get exactly what i want to achive but it think you guys will like it. smile.gif

Haven't gotten a chance to dl and watch the trailer yet, but are the computer units that follow you other heros from the story plot? And if so will you be able to switch to and from the units that follow you and they each have their own special abilities and such? Maybe depending on what hero you are when you talk to people or go certain places, you get different responses or different actions.

Pretty cool trailer. Especially the big ass explosion at the end that lagged my censored.gif ty computer =p. Throw this project on the pile of goodlooking maps currently in progress.

lol thx pears. As for the guy that got kicked out by outbreak...well the thing with outbreak is that he is a really good hacker and no one has the guts to kick him out of our channel... sad.gif (Last time someone tried they got kicked of of b.net for good somehow...not sure if there is any truth to that story tho) Anyway I don't like outbreak anyway (Hope he doesn't read this post) but...Clan aEp is pretty cool when outbreak isn't there.

As for changing characters...Well as you saw in the trailer all the people were marines but I really like the idea of being able to switch to the computer players and each have their own special ability, thx for that idea I just might put it to use.

Ya i thought of it a long time ago while playing some rpg on playstation where you control one of three characters and they fight alongside you. I was thinking of putting it into a map, but im already busy on one atm =p

Some AI in specific games are retarded, hope the cool AI in this map will be a new dimension to Computer controlled units. biggrin.gif

Well I hope the AI of this map will be one of the most impressive things about it...and the most difficult for me to make...but its all good. Doing the AI in this map will take a long time but it should make the SC computer players seem a lot less stupid smile.gif

Like what do you mean by AI. Like, if theres two weak units nearby and a strong one, take the weak ones out first? Or if the enemy has a ranged unit, use a melee one to counter it? Stuff like that?

Well...More like, Computers acting more human, They will:

-Follow Commands.

-Useing Tactics (Hiding behind things, Runing away and healing when hurt, ect.)

-Talk to you at Random times or when they need to tell you what to do next.

-Use their Specials and Items in their inventory. (ex. Reloading weapons, Calling for airstrikes, Planting bombs, Using Medical kits)

Basically thats all I have at the moment and im still tring to perfect it. I'll probably add more as I go and find nessecary.

Oh i see. Very cool very cool. But i dont see how you will tell them to run away and heal. There's no way for them to know when they are hurt...And also, it would be awesome if the computer used items on the player's character when he is hurt! Maybe you could make a system to where the units do combos with each other's special moves somehow. Like two comp units do special moves in unison and its much stronger than their individual special attacks.

Yes there is a way for the unit to know...If/When I release a Demo of the game you will probably be able to figure it out. As for the units doing combo's together I could do that. Its going to take a lot of work (which is why im taking a month to do it) but i do want the AI to be a main part of the game, even tho if all players are present the AI won't even be used. But there are 5 slots, and they won't always be full. And because of the AI you could play by yourself and still have just as good of a chance of wining as you would if you were playing with 4 other people on b.net which should be pretty cool.

love the explosion in the end...nice storyline, good music...and isnt the second piece of music the sephiroth one? I heard it in Kingdom Hearts while fighting sephiroth.

Anyway, lookin forward to the game..looks interesting

Yes only a month comon im up at 3:30 working on it right now lol. I will probably work on it for like 3 days straight, then gradually work on it from there smile.gif

Thx WarMarine I guess ill c ya back in our clan channel smile.gif Oh yeah and for everyone else. I changed it so each person has its own team member and all the team members have their own name, stats, and special abilities. I will describe this more in depth later on. This is the team you will have in the Game. Depending on which slot you are in depends on which unit you are and the computer units will always follow the person in the highest rank. (Ex. If P1 is present then the computer units will follow P1. If P1 & P2 are not here then the computers will follow P3.)

I loved the first part of the trailer, but the second part seemed just a tad bit cheesy. But the music and that big explosive thing at the end totally compensates for that. So gj nehow.

There were quite a few grammar mistakes and such, but overall I liked the way that it looked. It was rather short, I would have liked to have seen some more action. I would encourage you to pick some louder, better music for your next trailer, but please keep us updated on this map, it has some potential!

I think the trailer is fine as a trailer. It's a little random when the battles start, but the battles are at least well worked. The explosions were a nice touch, too (though it'd be better if we didn't see the turrets).

I think there need to be more maps with the team concept. Something reminiscent of the old Campaign Creations maps.

Anyway, cool trailer. It certainly has potential... so don't let us down.
