Hey, im tarting a new map about paintball and I would like to know if you have any suggestions about stuff you would add to a paintball maps, something other Painball maps are missing and would be cool, anything, i will update post to show you some Screen Shots and stuff.
hey i think paintball maps are horrible but heres an idea, use an ammo system and make good hiding spots but not on cliffs.
Hmm....I think you should add the "unlimited direction gunner system" created by Tuxedo-Templar. It's pretty complicated though..
'Unlimited gunner direction system'? You mean from the Rocket Launcher map? And how would you put ammo system in a paintball map. Ammo systems usually go by kills and you won't be getting tons of kills in a paintball map. Maybe have a location just big enought for the ghost's (or whatever the shooter unit is) range and if an enemy has a unit there, it slowly reduces ammo. This probably wouldnt work because they may be on two sides of a cliff and when your ammo just starts going down but you dont see anyone...it kind of gives it away doesn't it lol.
I plan on doing the ammo system, but would wont be able to kill someone one shoot its like the chances he has to dodge or hide. And i thought maybe of putting everyone allied so lets say you hide behind a tree the other wont be able just to use the attack and cross the map, and if you see him you shoot him before4 he even sees you. and since that ill but some disiabled units the same colors of the 2 teams so you cant see the ppls on minimap. Looks Good?

And I know painball maps suck, thats why i want to make a real good one.
Do a search of Topics by Tuxedo-Templar and find his Gunner System, it basically is a "Damaged" beta version of a way to have guns firing in different directions and going further in that direction. With the ability to take those triggers and use new ones. A lot of triggers though.
Yes, ammo system in a paintball map would be very useful. Maybe you could make it focused more on hiding than killing perhaps. Make there be lots of trees and stuf so that there is a chance of misfire. Maybe you could do an upgrade system in which you get better ghosts when you get more kills... etc. Be sure to include a banning system that is unabusable for all those laggy players

I;ve never seen a paintball map with this.
How about having a burrowed zergling under the units that you can see. What you do is shoot it, and the kill takes ammo and makes 'red paint.' Then after a certain amount of kilsl of that burrowed unit, the unit that it moves under will die. It would be impossible if you have multiples of units, but I thnk it would be neat.

Hm.... i see, kinda complicated, ill see wut i can do. Ill look up the gunner system guy and of course there will be lost of hidding places. I will give you some screen shots and stuff soon.

The reason that that won't work is because in paintball you directly click on the unit a lot to kill it. You don't '''attack to location..."

Also, burrowing a zergling underneath would slow down the units a lot.
