Towns///Battle system

Buildings
Each Town is fully functional. All towns have an Inn///Tavern in order to heal, Depending upon where you are in the map, each town has different buildings.
Fighting - There are three main fighting types. One, you fight on the main map against enemy units and/or buildings. Two, you come in contact with a p12 unit, which moves you to a fighting area off of the main map (units of your computer are transported too) . This type allows you to fight more than one enemy at a time. Three, You enter a building (takes you off the main map as well) while within you must achieve some objective, or kill certain enemy units.
Storyline
Plight of the Andronæ
The Andronæ, master warriors are nomads. Throughout the last 550 years, persecutions, wars and tribal skirmishes have rendered this ancient race all but extinct. They live in the shadow of the human race, now in its heyday. The world of men is comprised of a loosely bound group of nation-states that form one empire, ruled jointly by the Religious Order and the Baron-King of Hilæn.
Hilæn City is the capital of the nation. The remnants of the Andronæ live among humans, though they are treated as secondary citizens. Still, they are called upon for various acts of assassination and spying as it is deemed necessary by the cultural elite.
The realm of Hilæn is under serious pressure and looms on war. Rebels, resisting the tyrannical rule of the Baron-King murder merchants and travelers on the unprotected roads of the realm. Orcs are multiplying and coming out of their caves form the western mountains, and the Dark Wizards of the West are beginning to pressure the Realm of Hilæn with threats of war.
A small band of Andronæ are summoned by the High Council of Hilæn to help to quell the Rebels and eliminate the Wizard and Orcish threats.
From here the quest begins, and a story of betrayal, abuse and tragedy is unraveled. The Plight of the Andronæ will soon be over, leading to a second age of prosperity for this now abused and oppressed people. Revenge was never so close, but so costly.
Didn't you alredy have a thread about your map?
About the P12 Battling thing... if a player quits, make sure his unit gets removed, so it wouldn't be counted toward P12.
Shouldn't the scroll of knowledge have a culumative effect instead of just a measly 10 experience/10 gold each time?
The magic bomb... too unbalanced. I would turn it down a bit, e.g. only affect 1 Men (I know "Men" is plural).
Gameplay seems nice, and the SCFree sounds are a nice touch as well. But about the Ice tileset: the whites will be used in a conservative amount, right? Its quite blinding using that tileset without lots of greens and the such.
Yes, OddAngel I did, but it got autolocked. I restarted this one because I have updated the map and I have to tell you all. I will do that the next time that I can make a large post. The map is going well, and I have finished all of the triggers for the towns for player 1. I need to start infusing the story into the map, then make it for all players. After that I will finish the Battle System.
Alright I posted this in the old one but you shoudl post it here...
Your battle system is confusing...
Why would in some battles send you to an arena while some happen on the map?
Because at certain points in the map, I want the people to haev to go into a hard battle with multiple units. Also, that way you don't have to go off the screen for everybattle. Also, this way the Defile and Queen are now viable enemy units because they have ''minions'' trust me, it's going to work very well.
hi paella. i dont suppose youre releasing a trailer or even just a playable demo/preview? Even some screenshots would be something to be happy about right now, the map sounds very interesting, showing anything would be awesome right about now.
Well hashmalum2 I'm not making a trailer yet because I would rather honestly be taking the map on full force. As for some pictures or whatever I posted some before on a thread, but they weren't anything special. When I have something good to show you, I will.
Yes pcfredz, I will do all of that. I know that the magic bomb is wholey unbalanced, I'm actually coming up with new ideas for utilities anyway.
Pealla How willt he map be divided into areas...
will 3/4 of the map be the Main map (World Map) and 1/4 be the buildings?
Will there be territories?
I would be cool if there r 4 types of people (including your people who r outcasts) and they all hate eachother and you build reputation with them and they will help you but if you lose a reputation they could attack you. That wuld be interesting
He doesn't have enough Computer players.
May I recommend the following:
Use only one Computer player as the Gang, but make it so that the Human Players cannot hire the same unit. That way you don't have to worry about mix-ups, if you just use Death counts to keep track of who's with whom.
This will free up Computer players, to make Reputation possible.
The map does not have to be only 3/4 "World". I've been able to fit Buildings options in a 10-square-wide strip along the bottom of the map, along with spells, items, upgrades, and an area reserved for more efficient exiting of Buildings.
The map is divided up into 2 parts, the bottom 64x256 part is where all of the buildings insides are. The top 192x256 is the actual map. If what you mean by territories is different groupings of buildings, or ''cities'', then yes.
Don't work on the trailer, unless you get really bored of the map.

E.g. 1 more slot for another Human Player and another Enemy Computer that could fight with the existing one. Or you could do a Good/Evil bar via death count so that if you're one of the extremes, one of the computers will ally you.
Fredz, it's not that type fo RPG, I have one assigned computer tp each player, which is their 'gang' that computer ahs no other purpose for triggering reasons.
Alpha you're my idol lol. I know, no trailer, just work

...
The players set up is like this
Player 1 - Human
Player 2 - Human
Player 3 - Human
Player 4 - P1's Gang
Player 5 - P2's Gang
Player 6 - P3's Gang
Player 7 - The realm of Hilæn
Player 8 - Enemies [Orcs, Wizards, Dragons]
Player 12 - Battle triggerer
I know it seems like a terrible waste, but it saves me a lot of time.
So are the players separate and against each other? Else the choice for three gangs confuses me.
If you dedicate three computer players purely as supplementary fighters, it's quite a waste of slots.
No, all humans are allied, but this is the best way I found that I could do it. How else would you do it? Also, don't forget that I have to teleport the comp with each active player.
I would set one Computer Player as the Gang.
Make it so that Human Players have to Hire unique people to join their Gang, so that each player will have different members in their Gang. E.g. make it so you can hire Mr. X, a Raynor Vulture, and Mr. Y, a Raynor Battlecruiser, as long as if someone else didn't already hire the person. Keep track of who hired whom via death counts. Then, suppose I hired Mr. X and he died, he will be respawned back at the Hiring place so that another player can use him. This way, when you teleport a person, if that person has, say, 1 death for Mr. X, you can teleport Mr. X with him, because you will know that Mr. X belongs to that player and not someone else.
Make sense?
No pcFredz, that wouldn't work because there can be more than 1 gang member of any given type. And that still wouldn't work with teleporting. My way is working well so don't fret.
Ok paella we will believe in you

I dunno... does multiple Gang members balance out sacrificing 2 precious player slots? 'Course, it's your map, do whatever.
