im placing some doors in my map and i can get all the doors to face right. but then when i go and select the option for left facing doors, they always face right... ive used SF2.1, SCM2, and SCXE 2.6. in scxe i can get the doors to face left like i want but i cant get the snap to grid feature to work. i cant even find the option to snap to grid.

Wow i have no idea what your talking about so i'll answer everything i think you might of asked.

Starforge shows all the doors facing the same direction (if if they don't really face that way). In Starforge snap to grid is Edit>Snap to Grid , F4, or press the little grid snap button.

Staredit displays the doors correctly, and doesn't have a snap to grid option.

SCM Draft displays all the doors faceing the same direction too (or at least the version i tested). It's snap to grid option is Options > Units > Units snap to grid.

PS. It looked to me that the doors appeared to face left not right in both SF and SCMDraft.

Edit: Oh yeah
Left Door = /
Right Door = \

SCXE is just a cover around StarEdit. Since it's not a building, it's not possible to have it snap to grid in SCXE.

wonderfull.... so now how do i place doors facing left? just place them (even though the face the wrong way) and see if it fits and looks nice? trial and error.

No, just use normal Staredit. Starforge places all doors and one side. Or use non-Special SCXE.

cant use normal staredit because the terrain i am using to place them on is un-buildable. i am creating a 3d building made with terrain, and the doors are like a deffense system. someothing happens these big steel doors on the outisde of the building raise making the 3d building look a huge 3d fortress.

Then yea, you will have to use trial-and-error because SCXE has no snap to grid feature.

I just tried placing doors in SCMDraft and both left and right doors seem to appear just fine. Maybe it's because i have a newer version (beta), dunno.

If you really can't place the doors along a grid using the latest public SCMDraft, send me your map. I'll try placing them.
