This month we're testing you on your StarEdit Skills.
This month's challenge is to create the tallest and best looking sky scraper
You only need to make one.

Rules:

Challenge Rules
>Map size: 128x128
>You may use anything to make the sky scraper, including units. But they must be able to remain the same in game.

General Rules
>You can have n omore than one entry into the competition, but you are allowed to replace your old entry with a new one as long as entries are still being taken.

>Sumit by attatching the file here. Or you may send a file to iamandragon@hotmail.com No spamming my e-mail!

>Your submission should be in the form of a .scm/.scx by the end of the month (November 30th). Entry time may be extended for any reason whatsoever. For this challenge, the winner will be decided by public poll (at SEN forums).
If you do not wish to make your map public, you may e-mail it to me at iamandragon@hotmail.com, but be sure to include your use name

Judgement
This month the champion will be voted by the public. A new poll will be started in Map Showcase & Staredit for us to vote.

Price
>The winner will recieve a neatly designed winner's banner (price not finalized, may switch to something better )
>Also the winner will get 250 minerals. People can donate minerals to my account if they want(I'm really short on minerals...).

Whats the prize... Its a waste of time if theres no prize

I suppose it'll be bragging rights or something.

Price...no idea...what price you guys think would be suit?
Or I can just copy warboards and give the winner a good looking banner...

Naw, no prize. Something like this shouldn't require a material reward to be worthwhile. If it does, then it's stopped being just for fun and now becomes something for profit.

And really, how hard is it to make tile buildings anyway?

I've got next weeks one, the most interesting way of looking at Europe.

Required; Contain the "Majority" of Europe, any terrain, anyway you like, doesn't require cities, but maybe have a few buildings/locations showing major towns or countries.

I was just wondering, does that mean that it has to literally be the tallest? A skyscraper the size of 128 squares tall will look like a bit of a redundant pattern.

I say you guys should focus more on the "best looking" part of the contest.

Just focus on the best looking part, because it's a public vote and you'd like to please the audiences. Judges will be in act until next month.

add 100 Minerals to the prize fund. Wait, how is this one going to be judged?

Well...The participants are going to make a map on a map making programm (obviously!) and attatch it as a .scm/.scx map. The judges(which is all of us!) will then look at them and vote(I'm gonna start a poll at the end of November). It's recommended for judges to watch it in Single Player(with black sheep wall on).



Hmm...map size does matter...128x128 is not as big as map of Europe...

Btw for the best looking part you can add a bit of action to the skyscraper too (e.g. sparks flying around) but it has to make sense.

The 5 judges have every right to vote a participant out but that would require all 5 of them (and me) to agree so...

How do you transfer funds? Ill dump 100 minerals into the pot as well.

I've made a waterfall

A bulding with a waterfall flowing out of it! Thx Coko for the idea.

Put Billboards on it!
