As you can imagine, it costs me to pay for the server. Staredit.net is no where near shutting down, if this is what you think. I'm getting a paypal account to slap on the sidebar of SEN because you can imagine I'm not making any money off this, nor will I ever. Since I'm making maps, designing the site, hosting other peoples maps, Staredit.net somewhat stimulates the map making community.
I'm getting paypal mainly to help pay for the server running costs. If any of you guys have a few bucks in your bank accounts, register for Paypal and put a few bucks in the site B) (or, beg your parents >:D )

That could end badly. I don't think we want to just toss all of Yoshi's careful adjustments out the window if we transfer (odds are, it would screw something up).

Just put them on some back page that nobody ever goes to.
Better yet, have a whole page dedicated to ads, that way nobody will ever visit them, but you'll still be making money...
That reminds me, I had a friend do that. He found something online that would pay people to watch pop-ups/miscellaneous ads for however long they could. He made like $200 because he convinced his computer screen that it was 5000 pixels higher. He was playing games etc while this server sent pop-ups over his monitor...

The server is $15US a month, and $7.77 a year for domain.
This paypal thing removes the ads. I hate browsing with ads. All this is is a little button in the sidebar. Its not going to ruin your day.

I understand where you're coming from. I also see how people (esp. n00bs) could think it was a requirement. Just put it somewhere off the beaten path or something, where people actually have to intend to do it.

Everybody should volunteer their extensive map-making skills on battle.net. That way, you could make some money and get knowledge of senet out.

What happens if you don't have a back account that you can access?
I have to go through my parent's credit card. A bit of a pain really.

You can submit by bank account or credit card. I got a bank account so I just hooked it up there.
