i took screenshots on starcraft but i have no idea how to open it. i tried it on paint but it didnt work. can anyone help me? if theres a program requirement can you post a link containing the program and make sure its free.
Microsoft Picture It! Publishing works. Comes standard with office suite 2001.

You can just save it as a bmp. Refer to screen shot.
Before I installed Photoshop, I could use MS Paint to open it too.
MS paint wont do anything for me....
All it does is pictures and bmp's

Starcraft auto-saves the screenshot as .pcx
Scratch what I said,
MS Paint didn't open the file, the Imaging program did. Sheesh, I think Microsoft trashed it in WinXP!
Ok obviously you're not getting it.. you can save it as a .BMP like you said then open the .BMP file in paint and save that as a .jpeg, no extra software needed. I used Windows 2000 in that screen shot so I dunno what your problem is.. thanks. =)
Infranview owns because it opens almost any file
