Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Help set Leaderboard for Team #1 and #2
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegitXeris on 2004-11-09 at 14:46:25
Hey guys,

So far I have set leaderboard kills for team 1 and 2, the problem is that everytime player 1 kills a unit, it is added to player 1, 2 and 3. That means, for every 1 kill team 1 does, it adds a total of 3. So if I set game to 60 kills win, Team 1 only needs to kill 20 units to win. I want it so that if game needs 60 kill to wins, team #1 or #2 has to kill a total of 60 not 20. I tried to use computer #7 and #8 as caluclation leaderboard for team 1 and 2 but it may seem kinda confusing to the players.

oh Hey I just thought of something, but I have to leave house before I can try it. Right now I am using Leaderboard kills, maybe I can use leaderboard customs for team 1 and leaderboard kills for team 2. If I do that I could use

computer #7 for leaderboard kills for team #1 showing in text
(Team #1 Need 150 Kills to Win)

computer #8 for leaderboard customs for team #2 showing in text
(Team #2 need 150 kills to win)

Ok gotta go guys, please leave any suggestinos for errors or any better ideas.

Thanks,

i think that you have to set the leaderboard trigger for every person differently, like 1,2,3 not force 1, check boxes 1,2,3 not force 1 is what i meant

and if you did that, just make 1 for player 1, then 1 for player 2, then another one for player 3, all seperate triggers that SHOULD work, but im not positive

yes do what nightmare said and it should work and u might wanna disable use of computer players in your leader board so you cant see the computer's score

If you use Forces, Starcraft has no other way to keep track of the counter but to combine all the players' kills, since that's kinda the whole point (e.g. Snipers maps), so, yeah, what they said. Note, however, the players themselves do not actually "get" the kill points because of their allies, the addition is done only in the leaderboard.

yea his addition is wrong, he has when one kills 20, you get 60 and win, its when eacher person kills 20 isnt it? i dont play many maps with kill leaderboards

When one player kills 20, the leaderboard displays ALL player colors on that team's kills go up by 20. Simply put, the computer can't just put the number in a neutral color with label "Force 1".

because there are no team/force colors, theres no red team or blue team, those are given by the map creators, thats why the computer cant "simply do that"

That won't change anything. The problem is in the conditions of his trigger, it is fireing for every player in the game. The trigger is probly owned by "all players" judging by the fact that there are two computers + himself. If he tested it with another player it would be 4 times the value.

Most likely you just need to change the conditions of your trigger to say "current player" not specific to the player.

PS. Its kinda hard to tell where some one screwed up without seeing a map or any triggers.

Thanks for help guys,

I'll try it out, most likely If I have enough time after work and school, I'll post Xeris Arena Team V1.3 for feedback, then I'll work on Xeris Arena CTF (capture the flag).

Anyone have any ideas, suggestions for CTF? I was gonna use Xeris Arena FFA or Team and have CTF as an expansion. My idea is that each player would have a Probe or Drone. Probe/Drone would die in about 8 hits by LvL 1 unit, then 3 hits LvL 2 units, and 1 hit by LvL 3 unit. If dies, player would have to spend 1000 minerals to buy a new one. 1000 minerals can be accumulated by killing one unit.

Object of game would be, collect 30 flags to win, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180
What do you guys think.

on my ctf game i was working on i made it so that when a player brought their unit to the flag id move the flag somewher then constantly create and kill an air unit at a location centered on the players unit that has the flag to show they have it

yea he either put it to all players or force 1/2 so i said for every single player he checks one or creates a different trigger
