I am using starforge 2.0.0 and whenever i place square tiles in map, the tiles don't work in the game. Example: I place a line of basilica tiles on top of dirt tiles; when i play the map, units just walk over the tiles as if there was no height difference.

try using starforge 2.2, it has more bugs fixed and things so that might work, heimdal just created it or finished it, whatever

When you do use square tiles, there are no cliffs therefore no boundaries. You need to place ISOM tiles or walls to block them.

NeoNightmareX - Did you even read what he needed help with?

actually i did, he said when he places terrains that are different levels near each other without boundaries, the units walk over them as if they were the same height, but i'm saying that starforge has a LOT of bugs, and that could be one, besides, why would you put different heighted terrains without isom figures?

Using square tiles, not ISOM tiles.
This is normal. It is not a bug.

Doesn't SCMDraft also do this? tongue.gif

The heights of places do not have boudaries in Starcraft, only the cliff is the boundary. The color and height of the terrain is changed but they have no boundaries.

well, thats a good thing to know, so basically if you want to make some cliffs, use some isometric terrain, i remember in the Laser Tag map, you could go from downstairs to high ground just by walking over that tile, i don't know why i didn't think of it until now

or use a tile from the master palette that units cannot pass/walk on.

like water for example, or null terrain, or just part of the cliff, almost anything from the palette can nt be walked upon by the units

What kind of idiot thinks that USING STARCRAFT TILES is a STARFORGE BUG!?!?!? I mean, come on. HELLO! THERE ARE NO EXTREMELY THIN LINES TELLING A UNIT HE CAN'T MOVE FROM ONE SQUARE TO ANOTHER. At least that's how I interpreted this.

This is how I pictured it:

Dirt Tile
V
.___.____.
|.....|......|
|___|___|
.........^--Basicila(splng?) tile

He wants it so units can't go from the dirt tile to the basicila tile. Starcraft just doesn't work that way.

In other words, square tiles work perfectly the way they're suppose to.

EDIT: "Is it possible to make square tiles on X-tra editor if not is there a better editor or what should i do"
WTF ARE YOU ASKING THIS FOR?!
It's called Starforge you freak!

"and that could be one"
"SING STARCRAFT TILES is a STARFORGE BUG!?!?!?"
Ahh, too bad I got here so late, do you know how bad I wanted to be the person to yell at him for thinking it's a bug? sad.gif

Anyways, unless you use a tile boundary, the only thing I can think of is using hyper triggers to move any unit that passes on a thin line back.
Well, thin line segments so it doesn't teleport everything to the middle?? of the line...
Unless of course you make some system that tracks where you cross without requiring so many locations.

But, there may be a reeeaaaly wide/tall unit you can't walk past that you can place using SF... (think of Unit 2008, it looks like a Zergling, is invincible, has shields, and can be hit really far away diagnolly)
