You can't. You can download them from somewhere but otherwise you can't. You can get the WAVs though using StarForge. Just check out the sound thing and you can use any sounds from the game.

Yes if your downloaded them from somewhere then how did that place get the maps and the sounds i want are the ones from the like conversations not the games main sounds but the extra ones blizzard made for the campaign only. i saw some of them in tuxedos map and wanted to get my hands on them to.

You can get them using StarForge. You can get any sounds in the games. The sites that got the whole maps were taken by hacking. And even if you did get those hacked ones, the sounds are referenced from the CDs, they aren't in the maps. So you still have to use StarForge like I said to get the sounds. or use SC Free Sounds, but that's basically incorporated INTO StarForge, only better. How about you flucking read what I type next time instead of wasting my time.

i thought u only got the sounds that you hear when you click on a unit. i think he means like an entire conversation which i dont recall being in starforge but maybe im wrong because i dont use those sounds

All sounds ever in Starcraft are in the mpq. Period.

Damn, no wonder SaLa is mad these days, you guys don't listen to him!

Open Starforge and click Scenario in the top menu. A scrolling menu should now appear click on Sound now.
A Window menu will appear and to the right some folders. Inside those folders is every SC/BW/Some Beta sound of Starcraft.

If you didn't understand this then I really lament it.

You can extract the Campaign missions. They won't be playable or contain .WAVs though.

Hmmm, this gets me thinking, if you've got sounds from the Starcraft Game, but use Broodwar, then they won't play will they, even if you link from the CD, because the CD isn't there, and similar to the point where they don't have the actual CD at all.

Its not hacking to get the maps off the CD, its called using WinMPQ and taking them, and then adding the *.wavs and fixing the broken triggers. WinMPQ can be used to extract sounds from almost all maps, unless people are clever and hide their sounds.

If you try to access sounds that are unavailable, SC will crash.

Displaying that interesting note, cannot locate the following sound, i remember now. That makes it annoying for those wanting to use Starcraft Campaign sounds on Broodwar.

I thought if it couldn't find anything, it just didn't play anything. Because people can just taken protected maps, delete the .WAVs, and distribute gay crash versions. -_-

I remember there was a site on how you can open campaigne maps. You need to use a program called M something. I had it on my favourites list before but I deleted it because I didn't care about it anymore.

Actually it will crash if you delete the sounds from the .MPQ or from the CD, but with the .wav in the map, since even if you delete the wav in staredit the string is retained it calls that and it is blank.

Is it possible that StarForge has the sound files just laying in a folder? Like the unit sounds? I want to use them for something, but im too lazy to rip them myself.

No, they just have the links for them, you cannot get them out without the required link, which applies to the CD, you can get the MPQ ones.

Is there anywhere I can find those sound files? I dont think I can read MPQs
