I'm working on my map spell defense and I have pretty much got it working as far as technial stuff goes (abilities and stuff works). So far there's 8 levels (few compared to the final like 40).

Features I need to add:
1. Larva option on 400 kills

However what I need from you people is you to help me balance the map. Go out, play it online a bit and tell me what you think needs to be adjusted (defender attack or attack hp/armor - wise). Map recognition will be given. Updates will be posted here. Thanks for helping!

Anyways, I think that at first, it's a bit easy, and I probably would have gotten farther if I didn't waste 40 minerals on 30s spell time... pinch.gif
Later, it gets harder, very very fast.
And wtf does increased spell time and gas do??

Yeah, Its kinda easy in the beginning, But then it gets harder torwards the middle of the game...But yea, I had to waste all my minerals disgust.gif

Spell cause I can't think up better name. Got any?

Tweaked with balance and tested myself; added some levels. Like it so far, yea the constant units are esentially noob killers and kill sources; it's the DANGER swarms and strong units you have to watch out for. Any other comments?

Spell sounds better then abiter defence, And there is already an aribiter defence out.

you might want to tweak the hunter killer attack a few points. i was p1 and had almost no kills, because i bought a hunter killer. otherwise, its looking good.

looks awefully similar to the IS def maps. question: how did u get the pylon/nexuses to have 300/42 and 750/700something? every time i try to set glowing wireframes, it only allows me to go up to 255.

Ya, very similar to IS Def maps, I suggest you change some stuff to get rid of some of the veyr heavy resemblance.

Anyways, I think that the second WARNING!! with Lings and Scourge is too damn hard...
I had 2 Air Goliaths, tons of Dragoons, a Hunter Killer and a Kerrigan, and I killed maybe 5.

nah, I think HK is fine; it is just an attack type thing, because if I buy an HK as brown I own the BCs. For example, get a ghost as brown, and you'll suck too.

I have to admit, IS defense was the inspiration. I used sprite units for odd HP.

Agreed.

ADDITION: UPDATES: added some more levels and stuff. Made birds weaker.

NOTES: once in a rare while SC freezes when playing. What causes this?

yes was easy to start with but had to waste loads mins to keep up, other than that good map, welldone.

I hardly post in this Forum unless I see that a map is good enough and this is one of them.

It's very similar to IS Defense only better since in this one you are limited to your own box and you can't go to some other row nd steal kills.

This one is much more challenging as you do need to have decent spellcasters to get past the floods of units.

It has a great appereance to it with lots of glowing wireframes and you spaced everything out pretty well.

You labeled everything to make it newbie friendly.

Quite good for an alpha, it beats most maps out there and I will be glad that I helped you test it even though we were the first ones to almost beat it completely.(30 seconds left)

I had a new idea: having spawn locations toward the middle of player and starting spawn units 5-8 levels behind ends so that the people in the middle dont feel too bored.

Added sparse spawn in front of P4 and P2 bases; the spawn converge so P3 also reaps the rewards.

STRATEGY NOTES:
-To be well off,, the folowing players must do the following:
-----RED - ghost and medics, then buy marines
-----ORANGE - buy archons until 5, then get fenix(dragoons)
-----BROWN - hunter killers and later lurkers
-BROWN and BLUE must have defilers to plauge heavy units starting on ends
-ORANGE and TEAL should have Kerrigans to storm the scourge/zergling rushes (they have 20hp so storm smokes 'em
-PURPLE should buy a hero defender
-ORANGE is the only one who should have archons
-UPGRADE, or things like 50 armor attackers and 125 armor critters (type 14a) will hurt your life meter VERY badly.

Nice updates DT.
That units spawning at the middle sounds great. Now I'll get passed the 80 kills I got the other time, but we got far cause of my 1337 plague skills.

The Strategy for players is quite good as far as I can say. I have seen no other Defense that requires each player to plan his/her strategy different from all the other players.

Funny, because at the red side, the zealots can outrun a hunter killer attack and you won't get kills (however, I have noticed HKs do well as blue [red's leaks will be weakened enough]) and then at the brown side, ghost would do well, except the first wave is BCs tongue.gif

-uppded Raynor attack to 43 (someone pointed out that the sumation of two marines attack is 44, and they cost 30, whereas raynor costs 40. However, if you need a high-attack unit, Rynor first the bill.
-Researched Hydralisk and Dragoon range upgrades, it was sad they cou;dn't hit anything

Updated to 1.0 BETA, added alpha tester names, new levels, final boss, almost everything. I'll list units and startegies later...

Double-posted to bring topic to attention... It was 5 days

UPDATE: Fixed the silly error that I forgot the Victory(); action in the victory trigger and made the boss stronger (now 325,000 hp, 40 armor, and 32767 shields)

UPFATE to 1.0.2: made final levels harder and added vote-ban system.

UPDATE to 1.0.3: move HTs to player 8 and added money give system. Submitted to DLDB

Wow... Thats tight

It was prety anoying at the start looking at the things and trying to decide what rto do...

Mabe you should have ti so the players start the game... I died because it started and we had no units lol...
