Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> I'm screwed!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Paella on 2004-11-21 at 09:04:22
I had to manually shut down my computer last night, and when I did it made something go wrong. I had just installeed Limewire, and my computer was being a bit laggy, I went to shut down and it froze.

Now when I start up it goes to a blue screen reccomending me to start in safe mode, which I do on my next startup, but it still leads me to the same blue screen. It also says something about "Disable BIOS memory..." Am I censored.gif ed?

Thanks

No, windows XP

Well, that explains it tongue.gif
Well, if I remember correctly, BIOS is used to have the connection between hardware. Probly something wrong with an input/output if I'd guess. Or maybe the mother board. I'll see if I can find something about this. Probably tommorrow, when the break starts tongue.gif

Uh... when it askes you to startup in safe mode, is there an option to start in normal mode? Try that.

I really don't know how you are getting this blue screen though, because my experiences with winxp in choice of startup has always been a black screen.

I once knew someone who's comp got really screwd up and it went all black and had all these words, and in the middle in big letters it said 'Please Insert Hardrive' or something. Computers just screw up.

I think he got it fixed though, I'll ask him if he can help. If I find anything, I'll telly you.

I assume you used a different computer to post right?

Hey, paella, copy down everything that it says at the blue screen.

Also, have you installed anything lately, a game, hardware, or new driver. Anything?

It could be that Limewire isnt very compatible with your comp (it isnt with mine, wont even work) Try uninstalling it and see if that is the problem.
