Anyone know of an editor that will give me access to both tile sets?
as i need them to put new map idea i work on togeter!?
You cannot place differnet tilesets into a single map with any current editors; although DeathKnight is looking into a program to create your own tilesets, which could enable this use within a MOD?
I don't know anything about the starcraft engine, but what makes it so that you can't use different tilesets in a map? I would think that it is possible.
Well, it would be possible but you'd need to create a MOD of starcraft to do it, it would be like replacing certain "Major Tilesets" on one terrain type with other "Major Tilesets" from another, or adding your own.
The only problem that I could think of is 'blending' the tilesets, or expansions. I bet it can be done. WITHOUT a mod.
No, it can't you need to change what tiles are chosen by Starcraft, which requires you editing starcraft. Therefore a mod.
Is it even possible to have 2 different tile sets in one map?
If you correctly mess with TileEdit and create the correct Mod, yes, but its extremely difficult, and by extremely i mean i know of about five people in Starcraft who've messed with it.
So that means, No ordinary person could do it, Just special people

No, it means no retarded people could do it, just people who know how to use programs.
Tilesets can not be mixed, not even with a mod. That is completely impossible.
Couldn't you export certain tiles and then re-import them? I thought thats what they did for a couple of Campaigns, where WarGiant edited the Installation terrain?
Why dont we all just do it the easy way and just use a mod?

That's modifying a tileset.

Oh i see, were on to definitions now. Fine.

Haha, This is going to be funny...*watchs*

[CK Edit; Nope we've stopped, most look good for you young people!]
Uh.. am I the only person that noticed this topic was in the wrong forum?
Belongs in assistance. >>
I was thinking more along the lines of maybe! putting all the tilesets into one big tileset so you could have them all, if that could be done or a way found to do it! would add many and i mean many possiabliys for new maps.
You mean new mods.*
If you open Starforge(get it from the dldb), and look at the master palette in the terrain editor, you don't see tiles from other tilesets(If you did, those tiles would replace the black ones).
Exactly. It uses the number codes, so placing tiles from other tilesets in the map would result in that number tile of that tileset.
To mod it, you would have to chnage the way StarCraft reads the tile information with a mod.
I assume that's impossible without chnaging the tile codes, right?
Well, still it was a dream. Too bad you guys killed it.
Purpose of this thread has been concluded. Thank you, don't come again.
