Now that Blizzard is done with WoW and SC: Ghost (isn't it almost done?), what will they be doing next?

I don't think they will be doing anything for a long time. They just made 2 big projects and I guess they need some time to rest.

Bizzard puts alot of hard work on there games so they take a break and then start working on SC:2 or even WAR4 or Finaly Diablo:3 !
Or even they might work on a new series...

Has Blizzard been known to take 'Breaks'? I wouldn't think so because it isn't the same small group of people on every project is it? Like the people that did WoW will probably get a break but maybe there is another group begining on a new series or whatnot.

Yea, they won't on much, they give their people a month vacation after working their butts off so hard --- that's how the industry works. Then, who knows?

Well one thing can be sure...whatever they are planning is going to freakin awesome. Be it sequel or new series, it's going to be amazing. I would perfer Starcraft 2 but a new series would be nice because variaty is great. Diablo 3 however doesn't excite me. With the release of World of Warcraft and Everquest 2, who needs a simulated MMORPG...well at least that's how i view the diablo games anyway.

Well, Blizzard is planning Sc2. They have tons of topics about it at their forums, with Blizzard employees trying to figure out why SC owns and WC3 sucks so much ass. Someone came up with a scientific formula actually on why WC3 sucks ass. Anyway, that means like, 2009 release at the earliest.

Let's look at Blizzard's pattern:

WarCraft II, Diablo, StarCraft, Diablo II, WarCraft III, World of WarCraft
RTS, RPG, RTS, RPG, RTS, RPG, ???

Obviously the next thing they will make is a Real Time Strategy game. And since Blizzard seems to be interested in working on SC2 again, and SC: Ghost is supposed to bridge the storyline between the two games, it seems pretty obvious what is next on their agenda. Also about SC: Ghost, if it bridges the storyline, then they must have something planned for SC2 already.

I'd say "Diablo 3, even Warcraft 4, or finally SC2!
I mean, if they started on SC2 now and finished 1 year from now, SC would be the oldest game of them all to not have a sequel. It deserves 'finally' more.

I'm glad they're finishing up SC:Ghost and WoW, it means that I'll finally be able to start looking forward to awesome graphics, better editor, more customization, better ai's, etc...

Those who say they will do SC2 next can start getting realistic. If it doesn't officially say "Project: Starcraft II" on their website, then no, they aren't doing it.

Ghost isnt done yet.. They pushed back the release date.

Its coming out in July.

Blizzard North is working on Ghost I beleive, and Blizzard just finished up WoW, and I expect they will keep on forming the plot (the plot in WoW runs in REAL-TIME, an idea to keep you playing).

So wait until Ghost is done first.

What you just said is stupid. Everquest still isn't dead. What makes you think people will stop playin World of Warcraft? Expansions WILL be released and everyone that has played the game for two months will buy it.

Why do you think they release expansion? To make some $$$! They could just add all the expantion things into the game itself. Every gameing company does that...

I don't think the can just do expansions for free. After all someone did make all the content in the expansion. Those people have to be paid. But ya, a large part of it is making moola.

We should give them time to rest, they probably haven't seen sun light in like years.

Either way, I would buy SC2.

The next big project wil probably the game Blizzard North is developing. They were originally making two games, but had to scrap one due to employees quitting.

Starcraft: Ghost is being developed by Swingin' Ape Studios so it shouldn't affect the production at Blizzard.

Really? Hmm... I somewhat doubt this. Also, didn't blizzard drop their little relationship with sa studios and started just doing the game themselves? I heard somewhere the game was turning out to be just a regular shoot em up so they said screw it and started revamping the game.

Starcraft II has to be one of the next two games. I'm sure they are well under way designing conceptual work and I bet the plot is 100% done. Usually when they announce games they already have a lot of crap to show for it. You'll always get the "30 days left until Blizzard announces their next game!" count down to build up hype.

... and I'm always right. Unless they plan on doing an entire new series, starcraft II is a definate.
