On my bound (AC/DC) Bound crashes Starforge but, no other editor. Also it makes download REALLY REALLY long. I can't figure out what does it. I'm am really positive that it is a trigger. Can someone tell me what kind of a trigger would do this or maybe i could show u the map... But, i dont want to post it public because i finished it except for music, 1 ob *fixing*, and that one gay problem with the crashin sf.
Music makes the long download.
As for that trigger, no such trigger exists.
Perhaps you placed a weird unit number? Or you have a weird map size? I know SF crashes on me if I use it to change to certain map sizes.
As for dl, you may have also placed a lot of SF sprites.
No the long download is because of the wavs in the map. There are proboly some packed in the mpq that he isn't aware of.
well for crashing i cant rly tell u EXACTLY wut it is. But wut version of starforge do u have? I remember that sf used to crash on me when i tried editing messages and briefings without making a completel y new one, or even if i made a copy of one. That was on 2.0. Maybe u need to get 2.2?
You said it opens in other editors. Perhaps you can attatch the map?
It could be because of a misplaced unit. Like if its too far off the map then SC will crash.
Sc is not crashing. His editor is crashing. And would the other editors crash too if they somehow placed the unit that is able to crash editors.
Starforge is still in it's Beta stages and Heimdal said that you sould exept SF to crash sometimes and shouldn't expect a bug-free crash-free SF.
If it crashed in SF and no other editor then it might be a SF bug.
I was PMed this map. perhaps it is because you have over 5000 Triggers?
History of me looking at it:
-Open the map
-"This map contains more triggers than are allowed by StarForge's MAX_TRIG setting. Please increase this setting in the options window and restart Starforge." (trig limit set to default 2048)
-raise limit to 5000
-same error
-push it to 65535
-given error written in gibberish, but map opens, so laggy starforge lags out and I'm left wiht a process dumprep.exe eating 40,000 Ks of my memory for my troubles.
5000 Triggers?
I have never seen that many amount of triggers in a bound before. Basicly I can count the maps with that many triggers with my fingers.
There are bound to be useless triggers in there and lots of small triggers can can be joined to make one big trigger.
Well obviously. Hmm all I can think of that eats up trigger space is complicated text anims. However, the screenshot(minimap) didnt look much like a bound walling method so, maybe he uses triggers to keep them going in a stright line. Well, theres the prolblem. You 750KB map is caused by 4,400,000 bits of trigger code. (8 bits to a byte, 1000 bytes to a KB)
