Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Unit Upgrades
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Drakiel on 2004-11-29 at 01:07:51
Lurker Aspect is found as a "Special Ability" in Staredit (X-tra).
I assume you can enable this and allow hydras to morph into lurker whenever, without upgrading the ability (as it's already upgraded).

Buildings on the sides of maps often distract and take away from game play, realism, and what not.

Is there any way to have a Guardian/Decourer Aspect "upgrade" other than meeting the Greater Spire prerequisite for each player?

Looking to let each player morph muta into guardian/devourer any time (to use as a sort of "spell cast")

Thanks in advance

If your asking if you can morph a muta without greater spire, then No.

I think it can be done, but it would be a mod version of starcraft (and most likely won't be able to be played on battle.net)) sad.gif

Yes, there is a way to do this, but you need starforge for this. Before you load the map into starforge, I highly recommend you make a backup copy. First, open the map in starforge. Then, put a starting location for player 11 (so player 11 can execute triggers.) Next, click on scenario, and then special ability settings. Set the guardian/devourer aspect for "researched" for player 11. Then, do this:

Trigger
Description:
This will make the "spell
Players:
¤ for what ever player you want (most likely p1-8)
Conditions:
¤ current player brings at least 1 unit x to location y, or, do some sort of condition; it shouldn't matter a whole lot but to keep it simple avoid using death counters/switches~
Actions:
¤ create 1 guardian/devourer for player 11
¤ give guardian/devourer to current player
¤ preserve trigger

I hope this helps smile.gif. Also, if you do any of the above, it most likely will be lost if you load it back into sc xtra.

Do you mean create 1 mutalisk? If so, i don't thank that would work. If you did mean guardian/devourer that would be pointless to do all that player 11 and giving units because you could just create it for the player.. maybe i don't understand his question, but i think he's asking if you can MORPH the mutalisk into a guardian/devourer without a greater spire, which the answer would be no. But there are ways around it for instance just removing the mutalisk and creating a guardian like Max was trying to say, right?

Well I know there isn't a Researchable "Aspect" of it.
Aye, I'm asking if you can morph without a greater spire.

And the whole point is to make kinda a "dropship" type system with only 2 options, basically. YOU activating the trigger, rather than just bring the unit somewhere.

But adding a greater spire works fine... just looks unprofessional. Again, if anyone else has an idea, lemmie know.

How would it look unprofessional? Just make it all nice and neat in a grid. Lots of maps have these buildings in them for the requirements that they meet.

Maybe he wanted to feel special because he will be the first one to be able to make a map morph into a gardian/devouer without the use of a spire tongue.gif

If you talk about other things like having a "mod version of starcraft" then evreything is possible.

I think Samax is talking about how if a computer unit has something researched...say ocular implants...and the unit is given to a human player that it will still have that upgrade( or maybe give the upgrade to the player but i'm not sure).

Requirements suck! ranting.gif

Actually thats a good point, the feature to unselect the morth should be available, but it isn't for this reason, it isn't something to research, and is just present for the unit.

a MOD of starcraft would enable you to change this, using Arsenal to edit the requirements for units and what it builds, and it would work on Battle.Net its just all players involved would need the same MOD.

[That applies to any MOD of starcraft, every single one runs on Battle.Net, unless they use StarGraft then they need a "Special Version" of MemGraft to run on 1.11b]
